SC HD engine normal temperature range.
Guys, I am trying to find out, but it's a lot of threads to cover, so your help is needed, if you have the right numbers, please post it up and I will add and stick this thread.
I would like to know the right numbers under normal conditions for a SC HD (read stock thermostat, stock alternator, stock fuel pump, etc) for the following : Engine water temperature - Normal driving................ 185* Engine oil temperature - ? Engine oil pressure - Cold start up................... + - 85* Operation temp at idle..... + - 27* Normal driving................ ? WOT............................... + - 85* IC water temperature - More than ambient temp.. + - 20* Tranny temperature - No load........................... + - 140* to 180* Towing............................ + - 180* Differential oil temperature - ? Volts - 13.8 A/F Ratio - Normal driving.................. 11.6 WOT "NO MORE THAN"...... 12.0 (Low # = Rich) (High # = Lean) IAT - ? IAT 2 - 130* (warmed up) Fuel pressure - At idle............................... + - 32 At WOT.............................. + - 55 PS- if I forgot something you may think is important, post it up too Last edited by Hoffmann; 05-19-2008 at 07:54 PM.. |

You want your A/F around 11.6 or so nothing higher than 12.0 at WOT on a street tune.
I see around 165-175 what temp. I am running a 170 Tstat and EFans. Fuel Pressure should be around 32 at idle and 55ish at WOT give or take a few. As the IAT thats what i was talking about when you asked for intake water temp. My IAT2 is about 40* higher than what outside temps are. Most people see a 20* difference.

may want to bump that temp up from 180 to 185, thats where most of them run around.
also add in IAT2 temp. fully warmed up with stock heat exchanger, stock IC tank, etc. mine consistently ran at 130* fully warmed up. anything 150+ it starts to pull timing, but on a fully warmed engine, its usually right around 130*. trans temp varys greatly depending on ambient temperature. anything from 140* in the winter to 180* in the summer is "normal", and anything 200+ is danger zone. |
