Sorry if i posted this in the wrong place, couldnt decide wether here or the lounge.

i recieved an estimate for powder coating the chrome bars on the sides and both exhaust tips for 350.00 was just wondering if thats too much or should i haggle /negotiate down a bit.

fyi. ill problably do the wheels later as well, just waiting on some extra cash.

Back in March I had my bars powdercoated for $120 and they did not sand blast just hand scuffing with scotchbrite. I have no problem with them or any other pieces I have done like this on my harley. I just had my rear bumper done last week and they disassembled it and blasted both pieces for a $174They quoted me $125 to $150 a wheel depending on how much sandig was required. I have had good luck with this shop over the last 3 years but I don't know what market prices vary accross the nation.

National Crosslink in Denton. They have treated me well and I would like to send them any business I can. Let me know how it goes for you.

I wouldn't hagle too much. Usually if they give you a price, if you haggle them down, they're going to cut corners to account for it, and thats the last thing you want! I'd be dropping the wheels off with a big box of donuts! lol

You shouldn't have to haggle with them. Every time I pick up parts, the final cost is cheaper than the original quote. I guess they aim high when they estimate.

Well after calling around I found a shop who will completly strip all the chrome of the wheels, nerf bars and exhaust tips and powder coat any color for around 820.00 dlrs. the guy was super patient answered all my questions and offered to help remove all the parts for alittle extra.

just going to wait on one more estimate but i think i found the shop.

ill post pics when finished but give it a few days

Sounds reasonable due to the amount of sand blasting involved. Prolly a couple hours of blasting and quite a bit of blasting sand. What color are you going with?

Its a 2003 black with the creamish color stripe. Except the drivers front fender stripe it was ripped of in a car wash.

Yeah, i just got a hitch back from coater yesterday so now it is DSG. Last month I had a new black bumper(thanks to Stein Jr.) powder coated DSG and they did the inner brackets too so the gray safety chain eyelets are visible from behind and it looks all monochromatic. Now if I can allocate money fror the rims...
