Electrical gauges are easier to hook up because they don't have the large fittings on the back needed to run the lines to the sensors. On the other hand the mechanical gauges don't need electrical power unless you want the gauge to light up at night.

Let's not get confused with electrical type gauges and digital readout displays now. Digital displays are cool because you don't have to try and find what number the dang needle is pointing to on an analogue display.
I think were the confusion might be is the "Narrow Band" o2 sensor and a "Wide Band" o2 sensor. Yes the Narrow band that does not use it's OWN 02 sensor is more or less a light show. As for the Areoforce...AND I might be wrong....most of the reading are off of FACTORY sensors...similar to hooking up a scan tool, predator, sct ect... and reading certain sensors...As for the Areoforce I have hooked up the boost gauge to it and YES...it is just as accurate as my friends NEW Autometer....Could some of the temps be a little off and sensors starting to go bad,....sure but the are pretty close to dead on....And have you seen all the COOL SH!T you can do with a Areoforce?

That would be great!

I went ahead and ordered the steering column gauge pod from Lethal Performance. I found out they are 5-10 minutes from my house.

I think I've decided (for now) that I'm going mechanical rather than digital. Any suggestions?

I like these, they are in Stein Jr.'s truck. I have a Ford Racing boost guage made by autometer in a column pod and hope to get it wired and tubed this weekend. It looks pretty cool.

You hit the nail on the head. Sorry I couldn't explain it that way. I was mssing that those electrical A/F gauges that aren't too accurate are the narrow band ones.

Caymen, as mentioned you were mixing up narrowband and wideband a/f gauges with mechanical or electrical. Narrowbands suck and shouldn't even be bothered with. Wideband is what you need.

As for every other gauge though, electrical are just as accurate, if not more accurate than mechanical gauges, and safer to use with not having physical lines of fluids ran. Back when electrical gauges 1st came out mechanical was still the way to go, but now days, electrical is the best combo to get, as accurate as you could ever want, and more compact and multifunction than any mechanical gauge setup.
