Labor Day Weekend Project 07 --> 08 Upgrade

So, after months of aganizing over trying to purchase the '08 interior, we finally drove the 15 hours (one way) and picked up all the '08 parts we needed to update our '07. We got the two front seats, rear seats, center console, steering wheel and rear view mirror (so I can finally hook up that OEM backup camera I put on three months ago).

Some of the parts are a little dusty still but here is a quick pic...

Also on the way is a set of Putco stainless steel bed cap covers and tail gate protector.

I'm not sure why you are changing an '07 interior, but did you get the door inserts and center dash insert as well?

The '07 interior is all black. The '08 has the gold in it (as seen in the pic). As for the rest of the interior pieces, everything is the same.

Actually... yes, the thought has been bouncing around quite a bit... but what to do? I don't want it to be exactly like the '08. I was thinking a similar lower stripe - but have the color fade into the balck rather than be separated by a pinstripe.

I thought about flames, but the gen III's didn't carry the theme into the interior of the truck like my old '02 did on the console covers. I've condiered several different permutations of the paint scheme including: painting the front bumper also, not painting the wheel well moldings, carrying the paint down to the running boards etc. By the time I make up my mind it'll be time for a new truck - LOL

i think they are almost exact....if i am not mistaken....the little bar and shield pattern that runs thru the interior on the center console surround around the radio/or navi unit and a/c controls they are silver on the 07's and copper on the 08's

yep! I don't really think you need a ton of flames on the interior to tie it in. Especially that style flame since it says harley just from the layout of the flame stripe. Flames can easily be overdone. The pinstripe flames, along with maybe just some flame outline billet door sills and radiator shround is plenty to tie a flame theme throughout the truck.
