In addition the Hide a plate would be illegal in all states since it Does blacken out the whole LP so that it couldnt be seen.
I did go to the Website and it does state that it uses an electric current from your battery meaning it probably does act exactly how a calc LC display works and does actually blacken out the LP. I dont know for sure but I could see excatly how that would work since Ive played around with LC displays.
