I don't think the exhaust ports cause any issues with plugs blowing out since even N/A trucks have issues blowing plugs just as frequently, with the same exact heads and manifolds, and guys have run the stock manifolds up to 600 RWHP. I don't think the exhaust is really a restriction causing plug issues, or detionation issues for that matter. If anything the coolant path could be a possible one for detionation, guys do the coolant crossover mod to improve cooling to decrease the chances for detionation, but thats still in more extreme conditions. sprster's truck is pretty stock with basically just a 4 lb lower (2 lbs of boost), and some exhaust mods that don't gain any power.

Thats going to bite you man! Detonation is something that is cake to fix, a simple adjustment of the tune, and it can bite you HARD if you dont get it sorted out, especially in the winter with cooler temps and crappier quality gasoline. You're playing with fire. Bet you didn't even get a wideband yet did you?
