I am glad you found this site. There is a lot of good people with a lot of good advice. I am sure others will chime in.
16 to 18psi on a stock block will put you on the fast track to a blown engine. Your buddies might blow their engines the next time they drive. It might take years... but those levels will ultimately cause engine failure.
If your gauge reads 12psi max then that is your max boost level. You are probably set up for 16psi... but your ported super charger has brought that down.
With out a proper tune installed... I wouldn't go wide open throttle.
