Laugh OEM HU integration is getting interesting! 4 choices now!

YOU MUST BUY THE Feb 2006 issue of Car Audio & Electronics all the options are covered in great detail!

All of the oem integration units below feature some of the same basic features we will all want: auxilary input @ rca level (ie Ipod). Turn on for aftermarket amplifiers, auto signal sensing with turn on mute... all the things to keep the install quiet, & trouble free & useable.

Alpine Mobile Hub:

www.alpine1.com first link on the left hand side

Benefits: easy add on direct play satelite radio of your choice (XM or Sirius).Multi-source, multi-passenger listening through head phones, Multiple video choices on as many monitors as you can find room for. Touch screen with navigation, back up camera(s) & full Hub control. big news, the ability to add Alpine's 5.1 PXA-710 processor & any combination of amps & speakers to the stock HU & take the system to aftermarket quality.

Limitations: requires a truly highend line converter or a highly skilled installer to install.Integration through OEM screen displays.. equalization & subwoofer controls only through 5.1 processor

Audio Control LC6 & LC8

http://www.mobileaudiocontrol.com/

LC8 & LC6 2 channels or 4channels of input can drive 6 or 8 channels of output. Optional sub woofer level control, 24bit processing.

LC6: user adjustable level matching, true 6 channel output, voltage sensing turn on w/12v out for amps.

LC8: "Summing all channels" to elminate OEM crossovers for a true full range sound,. No additional line converters or 3rd party adapters required. Signal sensing turn on. Ready for true 5.1 surround with additional processor. This is the real deal.

Limitations: no processing, have to step to the LC8 to get the most benefit.

Jl Audio CLean Sweep

http://mobile.jlaudio.com/products_c...php?page_id=79

clean sweep: #1 advantage: can equalize/process out all the garbage of the oem hu. auto level matching, auto switching. true 24 digital processing & conversion. EQ & processing on board. it has it all except the 1 critical piece.....

limitation: no sub woofer output or subwoofer volume/level control. Obviously an amplifier with remote level control would olve this... but its a glaring oversight... maybe version 2 will have the sub channel out feature & then it will eliminate all other units... then the ultimate would be the CLean sweep with an alpine mobile hub for the complete mobile A/V system.

All are right about the $250-400 range, so comparable... choose the features you need.
