Well... I'd been dreading cleaning my engine compartment, especially after multiple snows and rains, then I thought
"hey how about using Bike Brite ". It's what I've used on my bike for years, and is a 'spray on, spray off & ride' product. Well I must say that the box is back to factory and I highly reccommend it.If anyone has had any experience with other products, I'm open to suggestions. ![]() |

Here's my method. i do this once a month during show months, because the engine gets quite dusty with the ram air hood and i live in a friggin dust bowl
![]() mask off alternator and intake filter spray down cool engine with sprayer nozzle on my garden hose spray engine down with 25 % simple green and 75% water mixture. any stronger and your hoses will turn white, any weaker and it won't do much let it sit for a few minutes hose off get the leaf blower and dry off the engine, blow out all the nooks and crannies get some vinylex or some other WATER based protectant (not tireshine or oily stuff) and spray down all the plastic stuff and wiring stuff. when that dries, since its waterbased it'll evaporate any excess, and mix in with any little puddles left and evaporate out. leaves a nice low gloss sheen on the engine and everything looks like new. next time the dirt just rinses right off cuz the vinylex makes the dirt not stick as well

I used the S100 product that I used to wash my bike. the engine compartment came out great. All that nasty salt from the winter is gone, hoses look good and dirt and grime is gone. It isn't a show truck, the S100 product that I buy at my local arley dealer worked for me. ;f

TTT and stickified!
Just another heads up, especially as these trucks age, watch the water around the coil packs! Not a bad idea to take another couple extra steps and get a compressor and air hose and blast the water out of the coil pack holes (pull the coil packs to be extra thorough) |

wayyy better? Simple green doesn't erode anything, and its usually sold in concentrate so as long as you dilute it properly you'll never have an issue.
