New product for your detailing collection...Diamond Brite Toolbox Polish
Its few and far between when I run across a new product that really "WOW's" me when comparing it to my faithful arsenal of Zaino, NeverDull, etc., so when something really impresses me, its worthwhile of mentioning on here. Especially for a "no-name" or "off-brand" product like this one.
I absolutely HATE polished billet stuff under the hood. Love the look, HATE the upkeep! Especially from water spots etching into parts, scratches easily, dulls, just requires constant upkeep of polishing. My main polish of choice has been Never Dull Wadding. Works good, don't need to find an applicator cuz you just use the wadding. Tried out some stuff I bought a few years ago for the toolbox on my 85, and decided to try it on the aluminum stuff under the hood. Definitely was impressed! I could get the parts equally as bright with the neverdull, but it required about twice the rubbing. The Diamond Brite isn't a paste, its a liquid, sort of looks like milk with the color and consistency, but its got a chalky feeling to it, which really cuts through the dullness and brings the stuff back to life in half the amount of time! ![]() Now keep in mind, my JLP IC tank is the NON-polished version! Its the satin one that I hit with some 2000 grit and tried to polish up with lackluster results before I decided to say F-it i'm getting it chromed lol. Well no chrome yet, so just been never-dulling the thing every now and then to make it look half decent. Can see in this pic from the other week, the IC tank was dulled up enough to look just satin again. dried coolant spills on it, finger prints hazed into it, just not purdy lol ![]() Here's the pic of today after barely hitting it with the Diamond Brite! Actually has some reflection to it, and a bit of a shiny look! Not bad for 30 seconds of polishing it by hand. Multiple times with never dull by hand, compounds, 3M, etc. couldn't get the box to look as shiny as 30 seconds of DIamond Brite. I think if I get out my compound wheel for the drill and use the stuff, it'll definately get it to that full polished look. ![]() I bought the stuff at Lowes or Home depot, was right by the toolboxes. Never saw it in any auto part stores, so check out home depot & lowes to find some. Definately worth giving it a shot! ![]()
