flat tires

My tires keep going flat. Have ben forever. is this a factory defect?
I called bell tire and the guy said that it is from the crome on the wheels cracking and the air
is getting threw the cracks. I'v seen four other HD truks with this problem. do i need new rims
or what?

I saw this happen on a trans am with chrome wheels. The way they fixed it is they dismounted the rim and took a wire brush and stripped the inside of the wheel so that it was bare metal that the tire would seal against, still holding air to this day and that was 3 years ago.
