got my dashdaq!!!!

only got to play around with it for half hour yesterday, but here's some pics and my initial review...

Got my DashDAQ!!! 1st Impressions...

if you have any tips for me Torrie, lemme know! I couldn't find a 2nd IAT sensor like the aeroforce can read. is it just hidden under some other parameter name? or do you know if its reading IAT1 or IAT2? I didn't get enough time to mess around with it to know if the temps it read were in range for 1 or 2.

Definitely one cool gadget though!!!

Update the device and it will add the enhanced Ford parameters.

Its not hard to hookup the wideband, you do it like any other analog in device. its listed in their Forums too.

For pressure you need a GM 3 bar map and harness. Its a 3 wire hookup real easy. I am setting this up on my GT right now

Haven't hooked up any analog devices before to any of these type things before, but I'll checkout the forums.

any recommendations on where to get the GM 3 bar map and harness? will you have a kit for it?

Yes. Sorting it all out with my car first. Then I will make it simple for everyone else.

The hookup for this device is the same for everything else like any of the SCT devices. its all 3 wires. Easy.

You should have received a pretty good manual with unit.

Awesome, thanks Torrie!

I haven't hooked up any SCT devices, just analog electric SW gauges, and my innovate wideband. Wiring's no problem though, just wanted to make sure I have the right instructions for it.

just finished reading over the manual that came with the dashdaq, learned a few other cool things I didn't realize it did (dyno calculator, fuel estimator, etc.). Didn't go into much detail on the analog input stuff, said to look online, so I've gotta check that out a bit more.

I forgot my dashdaq in Philly when i went home to jersey this weekend so I didn't get to mess around with it at all, but today during lunch we hooked it up to my buddy's chevy malibu. he was having problems with it not starting. used the diagnostics on the dashdaq to look for any codes...no codes thrown, so we plotted the voltage, rpm, maf, etc. etc. to look for any funky spikes, etc. His battery voltage was reading fine, mid 12's when off, 13.8 when running, but with the graph, we could see as soon as he turned the car off, the voltage dropped pretty steadily from 12.6 down, and when he started it the voltage would drop all the way to 6 volts when trying to start the car. We kinda figured it was the battery was bad, even though it read good with the car off and no load on it, but it was just cool to use the dashdaq and be able to see everything exactly how it was happening with it plotted on the graph! And definately helpful in trouble shooting issues and confirming what we thought was wrong in the beginning.

impressed more and more with this gadget every change I get to play with it!
