did mine finally
didn't have to pull the snout though
just worked through the lower opening, did one side at a time.
If you rotate the vanes there's plenty of room to work one side at a time.

Just wondered if this mod still works if you port the blower housing? I plan on getting my housing ported by Apten. This sound right up my alley if so, i'm all about loud!

rubrnutz,
Apten/MD Motorsports performed all of my performance work on my truck last month. Great group of guys who do awesome work. I would call Ken (one of the owners) and ask him if you have any questions regarding filling in the silencer holes with a port job. I had asked him about filling them in general, and he said that as long as you don't mind it loud, there is no major problem with it. So he would be a good source to ask since he does the port job too. I'll get their number for you if you need it.

it's a little louder at idle, but a WOT, it screams

look how far away the truck was from the camera on the 2nd burnout and still, blower whine is all you hear.
I should have opened up the exhaust cutouts and made the truck as loud as possible, but at least that gives you an idea how loud the blower whine is.
And yeah, I'm pushing a few PSI as well.

here's a couple of other vids

This is going to be a stupid question but there are 5 holes on the bottom, 4 oval/rectangle and the triangular one at the tip. Are we just filling the 4 oval looking holes and I take it the smooth part matterts on the inside not on the bottom other than for looks.

ANy backyard porting done at this time for anyone?

Yes I did a search - thats what got me the pictures of the 4 holes b eing filled I just wanted to make sure that was all that needed filled and the quality that it needs to be inside.

Flame me now.

As far as I remember, it is just the 4 holes. Use the 5 minute JB Weld. Put duct tape on the inside and make sure that it doesn't sag inward. Keep an eye on it until it hardens.

ah so the 5 minute stuff works fine? i got the normal industrial type for the silencer holes, but it does take a long time to fully setup. if there's no problems with the 5 minute stuff i'll use that instead. never had issues with it on other stuff, but never heard anybody specify which kind they used for the silencer holes

Looks like this weekend I am gunna play. The weather is nice here in West Palm, got my SCT, 8.4 lower and Cold Air intake from Steeda. I am going to order the filter kit from Vince today. Oh yeah got my boost guage and my single pod mount. The truck is not even a month old - if this is the path I am going my pro street my not make it here.
