What's the consequences of getting caught in the rain? Will water drain anywhere or?

you can drive with this scoop UNDER water and nothing will happen. Its not sealed off so the ONLY source of air is the ram air scoop. Air can still get in through the hole in the side of the fender, and through the top of the airbox, so its not going to pull a vaccuum even if you stick the ram air hose right in water lol Guys have been running them for years and never an issue.
Even if a few droplets of water manage to make its way all the way through the hoses, the filters are oiled cotton gauze, which repels water anyway. You probably see more water in the engine from driving on a humid day in the summer than driving in the rain with the ram air setup lol Welcome to the site BTW! |

Thanks man! I just bought my '03 Hd on dec 22 and love it! Only has 18,000 miles on it! Bone stock except for the stereo in it. I have the mod bug right now. This site is really helpfull! Im learning alot. As far as the water i was just concerned about water collecting in the bend in the tube. Just reminded me of a P trap under my sink. Just wondering if any water collects in there? If so im sure a 1/8 in drill bit would fix that problem...

Ah I see what you're saying. I don't think its really a concern. What little bit that will blow down there will evaporate pretty quickly, and like you said, if you find it an issue you can always poke a small hole in the flex tubing, but it shouldn't be a issue.

check out my dual ram air setup. I think I've got pics of that somewhere in a thread. That is basically both ram air setups combined. Really the only confusing part can be the bracket for the scoop with the old style so it tucks up nicely on a HD valance, but I know I've got pics of that setup in my album somewhere.
