Of course all the REAL rednecks are the ones who really caused the problems since they don't own an actual plastic cooler. They just buy a new styrofoam one each time they go to the liquor store. Buddy said that he actaully saw one come out of the back of a truck at the strip before they made the "tailgate" rule. Said it looked like snow at the line.

And yup Fatboy 2000, I know you have them up there too. I work out of Jonesboro but cover up to Poplar bluff, and the southeast corner of Missouri. Seems like there are pockets of them everywhere.

Take ****** note which side the turn-off/ exit lanes and how many are there.

Slow down the moment you cross the 1320 foot mark.

NEVER, NEVER, NEVER turn in front of someone on the other lane.

maybe these guys arent really rednecks, the extra weight of the cooler gives them a better launch but after the weight shifts, the weight is lost and they are not dragging extra weight down the track! maybe?

SO what your saying is we have some "SMART" rednecks. They sat down to figure out how to aid in traction but not slow themselves down at the back side of the track..... genious....

I plugged in my autotap and tested the TPS for WOT... if you mash REALLY hard, you'll get WOT with the pedals all the way down. All you really need to do is blip them up just a 1/4" or so and you'll get WOT. Some trucks may be worse than others and some may not need to be moved up at all. Better to just raise them a little and know that you are getting everything you can.

Try to arrive at the track with 1/8th of a tank. It makes a difference.

A long cool down can take 2 or 3 tenths off your 1/4 if the weather is cool.

it keeps the truck in the RPM range for the most power. sort of like downshifting during a roll when you are about to race on the streets.

I'm lost about this whole pedal position/throttle opening thing. I am 6'4" and have the petals as far away from me as possible. Is someone saying that the throttle doesn't open all the way in this configuration?

Your best bet is to get someone to sit in the driver's seat and with the motor off push the pedal all the way down.
Mark the location of the throttle linkage with something, back the pedal's off a 1" and try it again and see if it makes a difference.
Some vehicles not just our trucks cant go full throttle and may need linkage or cable adjustments.
In our case we can back off the pedal from the floor wit the push of a button....................
