Arrow "How to" Drag racing 101

Just a few quick things that I figured out last night that I thought I would pass on.

#1 Make sure you turn the A/C off, and radio off.
#2 Make sure you turn your Overdrive OFF!!!
#3 Make sure that your Electric pedals are about halfway up.
#4 Don't drive through the water box if you have street tires. (It won't help)
#5 Do a mild burn out. Get them hot but not John Force style.
#6 Pull up to the light SLOW!!!! Have the first bulb come on, then VERY VERY slowly ease into the second. You want the light to just come on and flicker.(Will save about .05)
#7 Bring the RPM up to about 1000-1200(Hold the brake in)
#8 When the other guy is ready and the first light comes down watch for the last yellow light to come on and hit the gas.(Don't wait for the green,it's not a traffic light)
#9 Hold the gas on the FLOOR.
#10 Look at your 60ft time on your time slip and see if it improved.

Crockett,

How many .10th's does the radio slow you down? Windows and air vent open or closed?

I'm 6'3", if I put the electric pedals half way up my knees would be in my chest. ;)

Geez guys, I didn't test all that....... I just turned everything off had the TP @25psi tail gate on and it was up, hitch was on, bedrug was in, HD mat was in and I ran 14.02@98.24mph with a 2.103 60ft. 4#lower, K&N drop in filter, FTVB, Smoothed upper intake. So if anyone thinks that 13.99 is unthinkable with that setup????? Come talk to me in a week.

Well I'll be got damned...

So you don't want them all the way back? Since I'm 6'3" I put them all the way back. You want them around halfway then, that opens the TB 100%?

The track closest to me does not allow you to run with your tailgate down. If you show up to the track without one (with it removed) that is ok, but you can't put it down when get there. Reason: Too many rednecks forgot to take the cooler of beer out of the back and when they took off from the line the coolers would slide out, break/open and leave water all over the starting line. Also had spare tires, lug wrenches, etc. left all over the line!!! ;t

The really sad thing is that I am COMPLETELY SERIOUS!! Pretty funny.

If you move the pedals back about halfway that would be fine. You won't get it to open 100% only about 94%-96%. 100% the TB would get stuck and stick open. 94-96 is perfect.
