Got melanocortin 1? I do
|
I shouldn't have posted that last rant...I was just pissed about some of the stuff written. The fact is the system is always going to remain the same. Don't you ever wonder what would have happened if Kerry would have been in office on Sept. 11th? I think Bush did a good thing and has done a good thing protecting Americans since then. The economy will come back around soon enough or Greenspan would be lowering the interest rates instead of keeping them where they are or even raising them.

I think after all is said and done in this post, I'm just happy see people passionate enough to voice their opinions.
Too many Americans will grumble about something or another being wrong with the Status Quo, but not many are willing to air their thoughts in a public forum like this.

When John Kerry voted against the money for troops in Iraq and wanted to cut the intel budget, He lost my vote. I was in Iraq and saw the body bags get loaded into the planes and blackhawks almost daily, and dudes were having to buy there own equipment and armour, WTF? This guy is crazy. Real pro military!?! He is way to liberal for me. He can't take a stand on anything, always flip flopping. He makes such a big deal about his 'nam tour because his senate record is weak. Plus me being in the military, it is never good to vote democrat. We need somebody with the sac to stick up to the terrorist, not be "sensitive" to them.

I am not pro kerry but i think the people of this county need to vote and send a massage that we will and can boot your a$$ out of office if your not going to be 100% truthful with the county. we need to get back on track and bring our troops home, Or just blow it all up and be done with it.

It is funny how a person can basically do nothing in office and so many people are quick to make excuses for why the job is not getting done. We would still be living in the stone ages if this kind of progress had been accepted throughout history. There are so many things that could have been better if we had competent leadership in addressing economic stability.
The fact that everyone must realize is that Bush's performance in office has been much like his performance in all other facets of his life; below average. This is not to say that he has not found some success in his life, but my feeling is that most, if not all, success he has enjoyed is the result of piggybacking. IMO, a vote for Bush is a vote for 4 more years of little to no progress in our economy. While foreign countries will flourish with jobs outsourced by US companies, America will struggle because of our blind focus on external issues. By no means is Kerry a perfect candidate, but the only way to succeed in anything is to accept risk that is involved. Kerry is a risk, but one that I feel will lead this country in a positive direction. I hate to be pessimistic, but I really have a feeling that Bush is going to win the election and I feel that I will at some point be saying "I told you so" when he doesn't do jack again. Sorry, but there is nothing that will sway my feelings about how I will vote. Kerry all the way. |

Yeah, let's all share the wealth.
Good story taken from another site: A young woman was about to finish her first year of college. Like so many others her age she considered herself to be a very liberal Democrat and was for distribution of all wealth. She felt deeply ashamed that her father was a rather staunch Republican which she expressed openly. One day she was challenging her father on his beliefs and his opposition to higher taxes on the rich & the addition of more government welfare programs. Based on the lectures that she had participated in and the occasional chat with a professor she felt that for years her father had obviously harbored an evil, even selfish desire to keep what he thought should be his. The self professed objectivity proclaimed by her professors had to be the truth and she indicated so to her father. He stopped her and asked her point blank, how she was doing in school. She answered rather haughtily that she had a 4.0 GPA, and let him know that it was tough to maintain. That she studied all the time, never had time to go out and party like other people she knew. She didn't even have time for a boyfriend and didn't really have many college friends because of spending all her time studying. That she was taking a more difficult curriculum. Her father listened and then asked, "How is your good friend Mary doing?" She replied, "Mary is barely getting by." She continued, "She barely has a 2.0 GPA," adding, "and all she takes are easy classes and she never studies." "But Mary is so very popular on campus, college for her is a blast, she goes to all the parties all the time and very often doesn't even show up for classes because she is too hung over." Her father then asked his daughter, "Why don't you go to the Dean's office and ask him to deduct a 1.0 off your 4.0 GPA and give it to your friend who only has a 2.0." He continued, "That way you will both have a 3.0 GPA and certainly that would be a fair and equal distribution of GPA." The daughter visibly shocked by her father's suggestion angrily fired back, "That wouldn't be fair! I worked really hard for mine, I did without and Mary has done little or nothing, she played while I worked real hard!" The father slowly smiled, winked and said: "Welcome to the Republican Party."

How about the poor family that is working 3 jobs between the 2 of them. Trying to make ends meet with no health care or vacation time. They work twice the hours of the "management" and make half the money while the guy that owns the place drives a Hummer back and forth to work. Most of the people that work for him take the bus. He lives in a 5000 sgft home with more garage space than his emplyees have to live in. His kids wear $200 sneakers and some of his emplyees children wear worn out shoes...or none at all. Is this the kind of America you want? What's wrong with giving the little guy enough to live on? With the benifits they need? Is personal wealth worth giving up your compassion, your humanity? I sure hope this is not the path of America. I fought for much higher goals. Welcome to humanity.

Here's a few true facts about me and a couple of people I went to high school with.
Damian worked at the Cycle Shack from the age of 15 to early twenties. paid his way thru pre-med then went to med school on partial scholarship and loans. Now he's a DR. and make's a couple hundred thousand dollars a year and owes me nothing for his hard work. I joined the Army 17 years ago. I was enlisted and I worked my a$$ off. (you know) I applied for flight school, became a Warrant Officer, let the Army give me my education, and make about $60,000 a year. Jeff was the quarter back. Got all the chicks, family had money, went to college, dropped out cause he was drunk all the time. Now he lives in a trailer with wife and two kids, while working at Western Auto. I don't owe him a damn thing. That's freedom to live your own life and make your own destiny. And that's what I have fought for the last 17 years. I believe everyone who earns his money should pay the same percent tax. Increasing taxes with every tax bracket is just wrong, and the people it hurts is the middle class like myself; who are the backbone of the economy in the first place. By the way, Fepony, it's Bike Night at Dothan's Hooters every tuesday. There's usually about 200-300 hundred bike's. You should come up and let me buy you a beer. Just no politics, we can talk bike's, babe's and bro's though.
