Miserable
![]() So a week ago today we were all sitting in Famous Dave's eating baby backs, brisket, corn bread, corn on the cob, coleslaw, lots of pepsi and a nice mud pie for dessert. At the end of that meal I started my diet. I have not had any pepsi ( usually three cans a day for me) or soda or juice, any dessert, ice cream, chocolate (usually daily), or donuts since. I'm also off all snacks after supper (no chips, nachos, crackers). ![]() I had headaches from the caffeine withdrawal which I dealt with advil. No headaches or cravings since Saturday, but now I'm just miserable. I'm hungry all day long. Last night I went to bed at 9:00pm because I was so hungry and I didn't want to think about it any more. ![]() I woke up this morning at 5:30 am and all I could think about was bacon, eggs, pancakes and syrup - oh delicious blueberry syrup. I had a bagel, a banana and a yogurt instead. ![]() Why is this story so long? Just an effort to capture how absolutely livid I am that after all this - I have lost a total of .... drumroll please.... "0" pounds. I'm not giving up. I have set a goal of losing 15lbs and tomorrow I'm getting back on my road bike (bicycle - which I used to race) and will start some road training. Last edited by Oh My Hog; 07-29-2008 at 09:40 PM. |

Aww poor OMH
Really, if you can just cut down any portions of what you eat, you shouldn't have to sacrifice EVERYTHING!!! The key is minimal food and some exercise...now, if I could just follow my own advice, it'd be great! Also, might want to try drinking lots of green tea - I know a guy who lost quite a bit of weight (40lbs) and he swears it was just because he gave up soda and started on green tea (now mind you, you'll have to go for the real green tea, not the sugary stuff). You could try slowing down how you eat as well - normally we all scarf down our food, and in reality, you should be chewing everything 20 times (yeah right, can you say mush?)...but if you eat slower, your brain has time to catch up to your stomach and you'll be fuller, faster.WHOA!! I'm sorry...went off on a diet ramble there...I really hope your cravings go away soon...remember: don't punish yourself, congratulate yourself with a "SMALL" helping of one of your favorites as a reward (not every day either). This will help your willpower. Trust me: I have a problem too - I smoke...try quitting that...ugh! My willpower is the size of an ant...one day, I won't have a choice but to quit. Let us know how you do - and when you're jonesing for something "foodish", come here and post crazy pictures ![]() |

The plan is to give up a bunch at once and then as I start to lose weight I would add back one or more items back as a reward. I also wanted to get off all my habit foods for a while before starting my exercise routine.
I have a bunch of road trip picks that I'm processing and will post up soon. |
