boost deficiency syndrome
![]() ![]() I have been without my 2002 black HD F150 since 1-8-10. After insurance payoff I will get 1600 bucks to go towards a replacement. I'm battling severe depression and I need a boost "fix". At this point even my Night Train isn't filling the void in my supercharged soul but as I search the web I know that there is fullfilment in the not too distant future. This I say because nothing will stand in my way to regaining the enjoyment that can only be provided by a slammed, blacked out supercharged beast that showcases what I truly believe to be the most outstanding example of performance truck known to mankind. Long live the HD F150!! |

I appreciate the welcome and I hope to buy a truck this weekend. I'm on the trail of a 2002 DSG w/ less than 31K miles! No mods(a clean slate) and it is super clean! May the Gods of Boost smile upon me!

I've been given a second chance after rolling my 2002 black hd. Just got home with my "NEW" 2002 DSG w/30,848 miles. It is super clean and has a snugtop cover. Temps in the 20's tonight in Dallas area and we had sleet and snow flurries today. Tomorrow will begin with installation of AEM Brute Force intake and 22" rims. The next step will be lowering as soon as money is available. I'm looking forward to joining this club and making new friends as well as benefitting from the vast knowledge that seems to be shared constantly on the forums (interesting stuff).

Thanks to all for making me feel welcome. It's great to be back in the saddle again. I installed an intake today and will try to put 22's on tomorrow. Next weekend will be some 2" shackles and soon as the tax return arrives it will be time for pulleys and maybe a Diablosport? Troy, I appreciate the heads up about the THT Club and I am looking forward to the GTG's in the coming months. I keep getting more ideas about mods and DIY projects every time I log on to this site. This is gonna be lots of fun!

Thanks for the kind words everyone. Put on 2" shackles last nite and got the truck settin down on the 22's nice and level. Next I need to replace stock exhaust. I can't afford a whole system at this time so just a muffler for now. Any ideas anyone? I wanna exit in front of the tire like a Lightning. I have found a Flowmaster super 40 for $100. I am interested in Borla and Bassani too but have not found any of there mufflers without pipes. Hope to post some pix if weather gets better in Tejas...Thank Ya'll

Flowmasters are JUNK on these trucks!!! Drone horrible and actually ROB horsepower. Most mufflers don't gain hp, but they don't lose it either! Flowmaster is one of the only ones I've heard of guys actually losing hp with on these trucks. Do a search, you'll see they get very poor reviews.
Magnaflow & bassani are the two most popular setups. If you're just swapping the muffler, magnaflows are probably the cheapest swap. Most guys get L maggy catbacks and just extend the midpipes to reach so they have the L exit. The L maggy catbacks use a DI/DO 18" maggy muffler with internal x-pipe if you're looking to get the same one and have the pipes ran/bent at an exhaust shop and just buy the muffler and reuse your tips. OBX also sells a half decent catback for pretty cheap prices and from what I've read sounds pretty good. |
