Question Just bought 03 HD.. MOD questions

I bought a 2003 Black Harley Davidson with upper & lower pulleys, gatorback belt,AirRaid intake, throttle body, superchip and an extra diablo chip (dont think its a predator but i dont know for sure) . The guy who sold it cliamed it had about 400hp. so i was wondering how Ford would react if i take it in for a check up? will they tell me anything about the chip and mods? also what should i be running in the 1/4 with these mods? the nearest track is at least an hour and a half away and with gas at about 2.50 i'm not planning on driving anytime soon

if its a chip, it's not a predator.
a predator is a programmer used to reprogram your computer instead of a chip- so it's reversible for warranty work.
goto ford with those mods and your warranty is over.
but since it's had a chip installed, unless you replace the ECU with a new one, then they can tell you had a chip and your warranty is gone anyway.
assuming an upper pulley from a Lightning and a 6lb lower, that would put you in the 400HP neighborhood with the other mods- assuming you have a good tune.
gonna need to add some kind of traction bars to get that power to the ground at the track. Without them I would expect high 13's. Add some t-bars and maybe see mid 13's
check out the times and modifications forum for more info on what mods=what 1/4 times.

thanx for the info Venom. any ideas of how to get a new ECU? i dont care how much it costs if its gonna keep me from letting the warranty be voided, im sure the price of the ECU would be cheaper than having to pay for repairs. i have all the stock parts so i could put everything back if anything ever happens but according to your post that wouldnt make a diference since they can read the chip anyways.

would i be able to buy a predator and program the ECU i have now back to stock? that would be awesome...

anyone with any knowledge please feel free to answer.. thanx

programming isn't the problem now, so a simple reprogram won't fix it.
the chip is added to the stock ECU, but to attach it, you have to remove a coating over a set of contacts. Ford looks, coating gone, it's had a chip, so engine coverage denied.
Check http://www.1stfordparts.com/ for a new ECU, I want to remember they're about $1500, but I may be totally wrong cuz I've never actually looked it up myself.
Ease of changing things back is why most guys go with a lower pulley - about 1/2 hour to change once you've done it a couple of times, and a predator or superchips programmer - 5 min to reprogram back to stock.
upper pulley changes are more invovled and harder to "hide".

Biggest thing I'd be looking at is if it has an oil separator added!
that's the #1 thing that these trucks need out of the box!

A new ecu is about 260-300 dollars. Re-programming your pats to match the ecu is about 200.00. Just buying a new ecu and sticking it in the truck will not work, the truck will not start, PATS=Passive Anti Theft System....

I have heard of people putting on new contact "stuff" - Don't know where to get it though ...you kinda have to know someone.
