    Rear Window Molding

Searched ... couldn't find any info about removing the grey plastic rear window molding on the outside of the truck. I want to smooth and paint it but, on examination, seems to be some kind of strange attachment configuration. Before I potentially FUBAR it, I was hoping someone might have done this same thing and have any advice. Does the entire window have to be removed as an assembly? ... like the dealer does when replacing the leaky rear window rubber seal? ... or can I get it off by just jerking on it harder? ;t :k

unfortunately the whole rear window needs to be removed before the trim will come out. which means 1/2 the back of the interior has to come out to get to the bolts holding the window in to get that trim out
pretty big PITA, which is the biggest reason why that piece still isn't smoothed and painted on my truck. someday though

    goodluck...maybe take pics for a how-to

Am putting in a fixed rear window glass in my 00. Had Phoenix Imaging do a brushed aluminum finish on the surround, as well as the fender steps and the rear bumper pads. Looks great and will post pictures when I get the truck back.

that sounds interesting... did you ship them the entire window? what did they charge for the surround? I would consider CF on the surround, maybe even the window moldings... interesting... love to see pics

Had the part shipped and was broken in shipment so had Robyn but it locally. Don't remember the cost as it has been several months ago and I am now in Arizona until this Thursday. Will take some pictures and post (not in the truck yet) if you want next week.
