Yeah I pulled half of mine off with the plyers while trying to get it installed. But it is staying on so I'm leaving it alone.

Mine fits like a glove.
That's one of the reasons I just trimed a tad bit off each side of the nipple. I knew that If I used pliers or tried to pick at it with a small screw driver I'd F it up.
