    Josh,
You motivated me to do this...your HOW-TO's (bilstein, hellwig, e-fan, etc.) were big boosters to my self-confidence. Now remember, I was an "oil change" only kind of guy before.
This would be my way of "giving back" to NHTOC....if it helps just one person, then mission accomplished.
    So right back at you

I Am formally know as HIM8NCE for the record, so i get two props

    Thanks.

I found a seat from a 02 supercrew that was not a HD it had a 60/40 setup in it at a salvage yard and they sold me the 40 section for $125.00 then had it recovered at a local auto upholstery shop for about another $200 so i got mine done for about $350.00

A few notes though:I used vinyl simulated leather instead of the leather to save big bucks.

Mine is the two tone DSG and the supplier could not find the correct gray perf to match all the detroit upholstery books show 2 different ford perfs but neither one matched.
I went to a local bodyshop paint supplier that sells SEM brand vinyl paint and took a seat and the vinyl that was the ford lighter color (lighter is easier to make dark as opposed to the other way around ) and they custom mixed me a pint of the vinyl paint (dye) another $30.00 and i bought one of those small glass jars on a aerosol sprayer and painted the vinyl for the upholstery shop. They recovered the seat and it takes a trained eye to tell it is not leather.

So if some of you want to do this mod it can be done using other resources instead of waiting a hopeing and praying you a fortunate enough to snag one of those HD seats when and if they ever become available.

    Thanks

    HOGWYLD formally known as HIM8NCE

That was me that snagged the 02 seat from e-bay. I did it because I saw the threads with the 3 rear seats and liked it. My dog isn't a big fan of the rear buckets. This was real helpful.

I have plenty of tool so I think it'll go pretty smooth. I still need to get a set of seat belts before I do the install though.

I assume this can also be done on a 2002 Harley correct? If so, i'm going to be all over this mod.
