    01Harley,

I build pc systems in my spare time. I used to run a small town PC business.

I would suggest this little gem.. The Shuttle XPC system is small, fast, very portable, and very capable. Below is a link to my website where I show the pc build-up.

    http://buttrynet.dyndns.org/forum/to...p?TOPIC_ID=371

I just got a request to build another XPC yesterday.

You can pickup a nice 17" flat CRT or even a 19" flat panel if your interested. I run an 18.1" flat panel with the Shuttle XPC system.

Note: The system is easy to build if you want to buy the parts and do it yourself. Loading the OS to a SATA drive can be a small challenge but it's still easy.

Let me know if I can help...

    Another development..

The guy building the Shuttle XPC is selling his old pc, which is not old at all. It's a AMD 3200+ with either Asus or Soyo Dragon motherboards (both top of the line). He just bought the stuff a month ago. He may be interested in selling it. If your interested, I'll ask him..

    Lemmie know...

The biggest question is what do you want to use the computer for? Gaming? Photography? It makes a HUGE difference...i have a computer guy that built mine and for a gaming computer with 128 meg video card and 512 megs ramm 2300 AMD processor...$875. That includes monitor, keyboard, mouse and speakers.

I run the Unreal Tournament 2004 server on the Shuttle XPC with max bots and max players and it doesn't even break a sweat.

If you want a kickin video card, buy a ATI 9600 XT Ultra.. The card is fast and cheap.

I have a Asus GeForce 5950 Ultra and that thing is a power hoggin, 5 lb heat sync with too many fans... The card is hugh... Save a ton of cash, buy an ATI 9600XT Ultra..

That's interesting that you say that... I was looking at my new Crutchfields mag that came in the mail yesterday at new speakers..

What is it? The moon in some sort of alignment that puts speakers on the brain or what?

if you are building a gamer be sure to add a few fans to keep it all cool...cooler = faster and more stable performance.. AMD is by far the best way to go. Intel is just trash....(plugs his ears to the yells from Intel users) AMD 2.8, 128 (or better yet 256) video card, 1 gig ddr ramm, 40 gig hard drive are great combo and will perform like a true warrior at blazing speeds with unreal graphics, right out of the shoot. Hard to beat this combo. Cost is VERY reasonable. Run windows 2000 pro. This is what i run and i'm here to tell you it runs EQ with zero lag and great Dx9 3D graphics. i paid $1100 total for computer, Samsung 17" flat screen monitor, keyboard, mouse, Benq 52x24x52 seamless link, 300 watt speaker system and DSL modem. :bo:
JLP shortblock, Stage 3 heads and cams, 2.3 Whipple w/3" upper and 4# lower.Ba2800, Accufab, Pacesetter LT's, 60#inj, twin 255's, LFP efan, PI 2600 stall, Detroit Locker Tru-Trac, 58" LFP Tbars, Bilsteins all around, D.M.R. panhard, MT DR's. 564/598 on 15# boost

His PC is up and ready to rock in under 10 sec... I'm amazed...

Beware the new GeForce 5950 video cards from ASUS!!!

Friend was trying to build a new gaming PC. After (3) motherboards and a ton of memory and other parts. We discovered that the video card was frying the motherboards.
