    Who's done a 4" rear

I just did a 3/4 Beltech yesterday, I like the front sits nice rides nice, The rear I am not as pleased with coming home on the frwy kept bottoming out, it bottoms over the smallest thing.

Is anyone having the same challenge??
What are my options?? I could notch the frame I could change out the rear shakle to what I would think was a 1" drop!!

    Any thoughts out there.

    Thanx HB

I had the same problem with my DSG. The only solutions that i know is that you get a small (support air bag system) in the back so you can air it up a little and stop the bottoming out and when you need to haul stuff you can put more air in it for a tighter ride. You can also adjust the shackles so it raises the back a little. My shackles were stock so when i went with the 3 inch drop shackles it raised my truck just enough that it was in that area where there is suspension. Right now you are past that point. It will stop most of the bottoming out but not the bigger bumps. I was happy with that. You will be able to see a difference. Or else you can go with a C-notch but you have to cut the frame. I'm not sure what size drop shackles you have so check with your dealer and see what he has to say. That is the easiest way. Do that first and if it isnt what you want and you want the low look get the support bags.

you need to get new shocks in the rear. My truck use to do that on little bumps. Belltech shock part # is 7535. It will make a big difference

Sounds like you need shocks to me also...

run the suspension thru its full range of motion on jacks

this should tell you where the problem is...

You may either need to cut your bump stops down (unlikely)
    or get shorter shocks (likely)

I have the Nitro Shocks& bumper stop that were included in the kit. HDsUpErCreWf150 wanted to know if I would have this challenge. With these included any ideas. I will double check the rear for clues. HB

I did that including the BT Nitro shocks but removed leaf spring instead of hangers in the back (also has 2" shackels). You can see my drop in the picture below. Even riding with people in the back it rarely bottoms out. Maybe you are a little bit lower.

My buddy's got a 3/4 belltech kit on his 02 black HD (not online here though)

he said it bottomed out alot also, and he had the new shocks and shorter red bumpstops, but when i looked under his truck, since he was parked on a very slight incline to the side, the passenger side bumpstop was resting on the axle!!! About a week later he had them raise the rear shackle up to the 1" drop spot instead of 2" and its stopped alot of the bottoming out. His truck is just barely raked now, looks awsome

HBHarley...Sorry I didn't get in on this soon enough. I have the Groundforce 2X4 for f-150. No bottoming out as yet and rides great. Kit came with new coils, shockks, everything. Sorry to hear about your problem. It's always disaponiting when you do something major to your truck and it doesn't turn out like you thought. Good Luck!

Makes sense....it lowers the HD 4" over stock, but the truck will be 5" lower than a stock height F150 because our rear springs drop us 1" also.
Anyway, instead of ordering new shackles, can't you just change the bolt position on your shackes from the very top hole to the next one down?

Thanx for the info, I know I could move the spring down to the next hole but Beltech said that it would rub on the spring and I would have to cut it out. I figures the 1" were only $44.00 I would spend that much in time with my grinder. I will find someone that will want the longer ones. This way I could do a clean swap. Other than that I am happy with the install even though doing almost by myself kick my Butt HB
