Ouch! I should have no reason to be. Especially here. For the most part I like everyone here. I need an attitude adjustment if I'm coming across as grumpy. Maybe my sense of humor is warped? ;t

I know mine is warped...that is why I typed that.;tOriginally posted by MRBLUEOVAL

Maybe because that "red rocket" in your sig pix gives enough clues. Didn't you have a post in the past about an awesome run you had (think you even posted a pix of the car on a flatbed/trailer)??Originally posted by capritoms
HeHe...I can't believe that no one has even asked me about that yet
Yeah..but it's not really all that fast. It only goes 6.0's in the 1/8th or 9.40's in the 1/4. I have my Pro Stock license as well. I have went 7.0's in the 1/4 before in a car. My bracket car is a blast to drive though!!
Back to the trannies which is better.

Mine is a U code....will the FTVB help me enough that I can forego having my 1715 microtuner? Does the FTVB actually do anything for performance or mpg or does it only extend the life of the transmission?
cap,
I just realized I mixed up the tranny codes (already edited my past post):
TR E = 4R100
TR U = 4R70W
I mixed up the code for my wife's 'stang for the truck. Anyway, I have seen your posts elsewhere that you got your tranny code right (U=4R70W). FTVB gives you shorter, crisper shifts which is bade news for mileage because you will want to :bo:
LOL....but if I am able to keep my foot out of the go pedal will it get better mileage or anythingOriginally posted by kromdom

Nope
What will it do then Longer lasting tranny? I want to keep my truck a long time...
Yep....check this out as it will answer a lot of your questions:

You will love the FTVB!
Thanks...that made my decision much easier
Sorry to bring this dinosaur back but I need to know if I can get a 4x4 pan for a 4R70W?
nope. 4x4's get the 4R100 tranny
i haven't really looked, but i dont know of any deep tranny pans for the 4R70W. gregg looked around a bit for me when he was building my test ftvb for the 4r70 tranny, but couldnt find one
Oh well...I guess I'll just save on tranny fluid. I just got my FTVB but have to wait 3 weeks or so before I can install it ;b
