    Question '04 6.0 PSD Computer Card/Chip

    I have an '04 F250, with a 6.0 PSD.
On the bottom of the dash, below and to the right of the steering wheel, a very small computer card/chip is plugged into a slot.
The card/chip is one piece with 3 segments. One segment plugs in and the other 2 stick out of the slot. All 3 segments seem identical.
By accident, I broke off 1 of the segments, which sticks out of the slot.
    Everything still seems to work.
I don't know what I'm doing, as the truck and engine are new to me.
Should I get the card/chip replaced?
    TIA

I'll take pics, as soon as I recharge the batterys for my camera.

When I remove the chip/card, the engine won't crank. When I reinsert it, the engine starts and drives fine.

One end, of the chip/card, says " D64". The other end says " A32 ".

BTW, I now have accidently broken of the second of the three identical segments. Everything still works fine with just the one segment inserted.

    Question answered.
The device is a dealer installed anti-theft starter interupt device.
The 3 chips are identical. They come together; but are designed to be seperated in order to provide 2 spares.

I believe I will, as I have no use for it.
My guess is that the dealer buys the devices for about $10 and then adds $300 to the MSRP of the truck.
Thankfully, they didn't even try to charge me for it. The truck was on the lot for 7 to 8 months and the dealer was desperate to sell it and I was happy to buy it.

Removed the dealer installed, after market, starter interrupt device today.

It was spliced into the starter?/ignition? wire, under the dash.
I removed it and reconnected the starter?/ignition? wire with a butt connector.
