Question for Vince (or anybody else) on installing oil seperator

I am installing my oil seperator from L&S, and I have a few quick questions:

First, is the filter just supposed to sit on the new filler cap, letting gravity hold it on?

Second, is the 3/8" vacuum cap for blocking off the lower intake hose supposed to be included? I couldn't find one in mine.

And third, my PCV valve was completely popped out of the valve cover, and of course there was oil and gunk all around the hole. I cleaned the valve and just pushed it back in to the hole with the new hose, but is that correct? Is there supposed to be something that holds it in, other than just pressure?

Guess I'll need to get a oil change ASAP. No telling how much crap worked it's way in through that open hole.

I dont have vinces oil seperator kit but the pcv valve does not have anything that holds it in. You will see that in the valve cover there is a grommet. I guess it is held in by that grommet. If yours popped out on its own, may want to think about replacing it, may be clogged up.

First allow me to APOLOGIZE because I did forget to put the 3/8 vacuum cap in the box. Actually I sent a few out like this.
Must of had something in my eye!!!
If you have not purchased one, mail me and I will send you one tomorrow.

Yes the filter sets on top on the new Oil filler cap. Once all tubing is connected, It will not go anywhere.

Yes the PCV just sits in the valve cover grommet.
Not sure of how yours popped out?

That's ok, Vince. I went by NAPA and they gave me one free. I don't know how my PCV popped out--I've only had the truck a month. Who knows how long it's been off.

Gonna get the oil changed right quick, though.

    HMMMM

Looks like another mod for me! I am getting tired of emptying mine all the time. Should have went with Vince in the first place, but I had already bought the one I had before I joined the site!

If it takes you more than 5 minutes to install then your sleepwalking.

Vince, I noticed that your new kit has a rubber connector hose to the upper plenum instead of the clear one like I have. Any advantage to that configuration? The clear one looks more flexible, so the fit doesn't appear as tight.
