That's not quite the formula I use. The actual formula to convert from mm to inches is "width/25.4" and is slightly more accurate than just multiplying by .04, thus using Robs figures I would derive this answer instead:

    275/25.4 = 10.83 X .45 = 4.87 X 2 = 9.74 + 20 (wheel diam) = 29.74

    or

    (275 / 25.4) x .45 x 2 + 20 = 29.74

or this to convert any metric size to diameter in inches:

    (width in mm x 25.4) x (aspect ratio) x (2) + (wheel diameter) = overall tire diameter.

Keep in mind that these formula results are APPROXIMATIONS only since tire diameters vary slightly between all manufacturers.

fyi - you can find lots of different tire calculators on the net.

they allow you to type in every possible size combo, then calculate that against stock, or another tire sizing. When i get home, ill post the one i use... even tells how your speedo will be effected.

    take the size (275, 295,305 etc) X .04 to convert to inches... then X the aspect ratio (.40 , .45 , .50) X 2 + wheel diam =overall tire diameter unloaded.... example:

    275/45/20:

    275 X .04 = 11 X .45 =4.95 X 2 = 9.9 + 20 (wheel diam) = 29.9

the X2 messes with most people.. this is the amount of tire above & below the rim... thus there is (2) parts..

HERE IS THE CONVERSION / FORMULA FOR THE SIZE:
    275/45/20:

    275 MM: (25 MM PER 1 INCH) 275 DIVIDED BY 25=11"
    45 (% OF THE 275) = SIDE WALL "PROFILE"
AND OBVIOUSLY: 20= " OF THE RIM

the regular Dominator 701700... not the one with the Cobra Nostrils...

My local SPeed shop via Arrow Speed Warehouse... had it in KC, Mo... they don't charge freight to deliver from KC to St. Louis & they spotted me the tax for a good deal.... I am thrilled... even with tax it would have only been about $450-475 so about the same as $399 + 75 freight & would have had to drive to the freight terminal... this way if the hood is "geeked up" all & ahve to do is say "try again"
