As many of you know, I was about to go to market with a Five Piece Brake Line Kit when at the last minute I was pulled up short by my insurance company.
I turned the product over to Bonaco in Socal, the people that were going to make them for me and I have just finished up the install of the first production setup.
This is my take on their kit.
First impression: nice stuff. I would have been delighted to have been able to put my name on them.
The install was relatively easy except for the fact that I have 2"drop control arms (Western Chassis) that required that I drill and tap a hole for a rubber lined loop clamp, and that I position the inboard end differently than anybody would who has stock control arms.
This is how most would be installed. The line would be run in exactly the same route as the stock line, using the stock retaining clips:
.
However, due to my control arms, this is how mine had to be installed:
The three rear lines, with the included hard line were a pretty simple plug and play. I have only one minor suggestion for a longer attachment bolt with a spacer for the center "T" that I shall pass along to Bonaco.
Everything fits well and all the parts are in the kit. I am going to tell Bonaco that they have a winner on their hands.
