    Question Aluminized Steel/Stainless Steel

    I'm in the market for some Hi-flow cats and I see Bassani sells 2 differnt kits Aluminized Steel and Stainless Steel,price differnce is about $200.What is the differnce in the 2,aluminize and stainless steel???

    life expectancy... the stainless will, as a general rule, never wear out...

    If you are like most of us the aluminized is fine, since you will change it again later if you keep the truck long enough...

    unless its a show truck where the stainless will be polished.

    There is no performance difference.. the core is the same

    Not totally sure but wouldn't the aluminized steel just mean that the unit is steel but the final coat is aluminum while stainless steel one is made totally of stainless?

    aluminized steel is a type of steel sheet. the entire unit will be aluminized or all stainless.

    I put aluminized pipes on my 94 GMC in 93 when I got it, I know the current owmer and see the truck daily, there dirty but no rust problems, Ill use it again.

    Well first of all, do not waste your money on the Bassani cats at all. Magnaflow/Car Sound cats are of better quality and were less expensive the last time I looked.

    Now if you want the best cats you can get, go with a set of Random Technology cats, but they cost more.
