Question Bed and Cab Measurement Please

    Hi Lads,

In the UK the current Tax and Duty rate for pickups is 22% Duty and 17.5% VAT.

I believe as an importer that there maybe a chance to classify the Harley Short-bed Pickup as a Private vehicle rather than it be classified as a commercial, thus reducing the Duty down to 10%

In order to do so I need to demonstrate that the vehicle is an SUV (on a technicality)rather than a commercial pickup, but need some measurements.

Could anyone measure the height, width and length of the F-150 Short Bed Pick Up bed and the Same for the Actual Supercrew Cab.

The reason being that there is a chance that if you can prove that the pickup bed is smaller than the cab itself, that they may classify as an SUV which is only 10% Duty and 17.5% VAT

    Many Thanks for your help.

    Regards,

    John

    Holy taxes Batman!!

Now I see why our founding fathers rebeled!!

(Though here in Taxachusetts, it may be time for round 2!)

But seriously... You want inside dimensions or outside? Does it matter?

If it wouldn't be too much trouble, both please.

    Many thanks

No Prob. I'll take my tape measure out this morning before I head to work and see what I can come up with.

If someone else could do the same ( ), you could take an average.

Ok.. what I measured. Keep in mind, these are rough.

    exterior bed. 72x67
interior bed 66x61.5 (note I have a factory bedliner)

Cab interior: 86x61 (from drivers side pedals to back wall and inbetween door pillars. )

I didn't get cab exterior. Not sure where you want if from exterior.

Many Thanks, I'll get my application in tomorrow and wait and see if they agree to reducing the tax.

    I really appreciate your help.
