    Holloywood Hero

Thought all might like this e-mail that I got..... there are a few in Hollywood that have
    their heads on straight.

did a little research and figured I'd throw in what I found....

    http://www.snopes.com/politics/military/denzel.asp
    http://urbanlegends.about.com/librar...sher_house.htm

    according to what I found:
no check in full to build a new house - at least not yet, but he has made a "substantial donation" according to a Fisher House spokesman
no son in the marines - 2 sons, 1 is 13, the other is a student at Morehouse in Atlanta

However, I see this as actually better than the original story.
While he may not have built them a whole new house, he did apparently give a large chunk of cash even thought he does NOT have a vested interest (son in the sandbox).

I definitely have great respect for the man.

    here's another bit...

Actor Denzel Washington, center, smiles before presenting a Purple Heart medal to Army Spc. Connie R. Spinks, right, as Brig. Gen. C. William Fox looks on at Brooke Army Medical Center, in San Antonio, Texas, Friday, Dec. 17, 2004. Washington was invited by the Army to present the medals as a surprise for the soldiers. another good bit of news:
Due to the generosity of the American public, the Fisher House Foundation has already collected enough money to build another house, although it will not necessarily be constructed at the Brooke Army Medical Center. Other possible sites for a new Fisher House include the Michael E. DeBakey Medical Center in Houston, the Haley VA Medical Center in Tampa, the Madigan Army Medical Center in Fort Lewis, Washington, the VA Medical Center in Palo Alto, California, and Fort Campbell, Kentucky.
