    Gents this just in!!

Subject: Marine Corps Drum and Bugle Corps Visiting Camp Pendleton

    Ladies and Gentlemen,

The Marine Corps Drum and Bugle Corps, Silent Drill Platoon, and Marine
Corps Color Guard (collectively known as the Battle Color Detachment) will
visit Marine Corps Base, Camp Pendleton on Friday, 4 March 2005. The
Marines of 8th & I will perform two ceremonies aboard Camp Pendleton during
their West Coast Tour. Everyone is encouraged to take advantage of this
opportunity and attend this worthwhile event. The first performance will be
at 1030, on the 22 Area Parade Deck for all Marines, Sailors, and civilians
from the southern area of the Base. The second performance will be at 1500,
on the School of Infantry (SOI) Upper Parade Deck for Marines, Sailors, and
civilian guests from the northern area of the Base.

The Marines featured in the Battle Color Ceremony - "The Commandant's Own,"
the U.S. Marine Drum and Bugle Corps, the Silent Drill Platoon, and the
Marine Corps Color Guard led by the Color Sergeant of the Marine Corps, are
all assigned to the "Oldest Post of the Corps," Marine Barracks, Washington,
D.C. These Marines appear in hundreds of ceremonies annually in Washington,
D.C., across the country, and abroad. For more information about the Marine
Corps Color guard, please log on to

If you have never seen the best of the best in action I highly recommend that you show up for this!

True poetry in motion and no one can even come close to duplicating it!

    Semper FI!!!!!

Mmmmmmm....that'd be pretty cool. We had the USMC Silent Drill Team show up to our homecoming football games every year at Norwich, and it was unbelievable. Poetry with a Springfield (or was it an M-14?)

Was station I&I Duty at NAS Dallas had the boys down for the duration of the fair every year. They did more night drilling than silent drilling. Groupies waiting for them every night.

Silent Drill Team groupies? Now I've heard everything. I guess it shouldn't be very hard to believe. The sharp uniforms, those tight haircuts, the strong jawbones, and broad heaving shoulders and chests, OH MY!

    j/k.

    Seriously.

    I mean it - I'm joking.
