    Unhappy Broken Spring

    Guys

    I am just in the process of giving my 03 HD it's winter clean and checkover and have noticed that I have a broken front Coil spring on the LHS (Drivers side) There is a clean break on the 3rd coil down from the top and that corner is sitting a little low as a result. Has anyone heard of this happening before and more importantly does anyone know wher I can get a new/second hand one from. If I can source one in UK that would be great but also need to know where to get one from in the States and if possible a rough idea of cost. Any help you good buddies can give is much appreciated.

    Panic not my friend.

    There's a place in Cambridge that is breaking a 2003 HD.
    Lots of parts available and cheaper than shipping from the USA.

    Coil springs are pretty tough. That interesting that yours broke under normal driving conditions.

    Only done 23000 miles, Ive done 8000 of those. Previous owner was a Ford dealer in Canada and truck came to me in immaculate condition so don't think he mistreated it. Maybe just a faulty spring when it went on new.

    I have managed to find some springs in the UK, so can repair the broken one.

    Blue oval, I am having the front springs I have been offered me here in the UK shipped to me. Before I start to dismantle my truck to fit the springs it would be helpfull If I could measure the length of the springs against a known 2003 HD spring so I know I have got the right bits as I haven't been able to see the donor vehicle to confirm it was a Harley. If possible could you measure the front springs you have and let me know the length. That way if the springs I get are the same size I know I am good to go.
