    Exclamation Exterior/Interior

    EXTERIOR/INTERIOR

"For the 2006 Ford Harley™ F-150, we've really leaned into the custom look of classic monochromatic black and chrome. And we've made it even more of a standout with pace-making cues like the bold custom grille and massive forged rims."– Willie G. Davidson, Senior Vice President and Chief Styling Officer, Harley-Davidson

Chrome highlights add even more street-rod appeal. Previous versions of the Ford Harley-Davidson™ pickup offerings have featured two-tone treatments and flame graphics. For the 2006 Ford Harley-Davidson™ F-150, however, the custom look is expressed in monochromatic black, following the quintessential Harley formula of black leather and chrome. "The word 'custom' is always first and foremost in our minds when we work with Ford on these trucks," says Willie G. Davidson, senior vice president and chief styling officer, Harley Davidson. The new Ford Harley-Davidson™ F-150 SuperCab visually communicates power, dressed in all black, oozing chrome and sporting distinctive Harley-Davidson visual cues. The Black Monotone exterior is accented with a hot-rod inspired custom scalloped red stripe outlined in electric blue running along the beltline, punctuated with the "Harley-Davidson" script. The custom stripe adds to the overall performance feel of the vehicle, creating a sense of motion and speed. The custom appearance begins with the bold front-end design, featuring a unique chrome billet grille and blacked-out headlamps. Based on a SuperCab configuration with a 6-1/2-foot Styleside box, the new 2006 Ford Harley-Davidson™ F-150 cuts a menacing profile. Beefy 22-inch polished forged aluminum rims – a first for any F-150 – sport a split five-spoke design, exposed lug nuts and the distinctive Bar & Shield logo on the center cap. The massive wheels give this ride undeniable attitude.

Classic monochromatic black and chrome is the established design theme for the 2006 Ford Harley-Davidson™ F-150.

Between the wheel wells, chrome-accented side tubes help create an integrated appearance and enhance the truck's powerful stance. The side tubes and the unique lower front valence, or chin spoiler, help create a lowered look. Heavyweight genuine zinc die-cast badges on the fenders celebrate the Ford Harley-Davidson alliance. Dark tinted smoked-out taillamps, a blacked-out bumper and the "Harley-Davidson F-150" badge distinguish the rear. Chrome tie-down hooks and a slash-cut chrome exhaust tip add even more street-rod appeal."The Harley-Davidson design guys speak the same language we do," says Gordon Platto, chief designer, Ford Harley-Davidson™ F-150 and F-Series. "Judging from what our customers are telling us, we've been right on with each model. They love what we're doing."
"For the new Ford Harley-Davidson™ F-150, we've designed a ****pit that's a tribute to the open road."– Gordon Platto, Chief Designer, Ford Harley-Davidson™ F-150 and F-Series
Two things that soon come to mind when contemplating a Harley-Davidson are black leather and chrome. That's why they are a natural – some might even say necessary – part of the 2006 Ford Harley-Davidson™ F-150 interior. A SALUTE TO THE MOTORCYCLE CULTUREHarley-Davidson heritage resonates throughout this new vehicle. Inside, the 2006 Ford Harley-Davidson™ F-150 makes a strong statement of custom-inspired refinement, with an underlying tone of authenticity and genuineness that has been the hallmark for all Ford Harley-Davidson™ trucks. A limited production model, each 2006 Ford Harley-Davidson™ F-150 includes a serialized nickel plate that highlights the truck's production date and number.

"For the new Ford Harley-Davidson™ F-150, we've designed a ****pit that's a tribute to the open road," says Ford F-Series Chief Designer Gordon Platto.
"We've introduced high-gloss Piano Black cues along the instrument panel, center stack and console to bring in a feeling of visual motion. Combine that with the rich leather and bright chrome that's been such an essential part of all our Harley™ trucks, and you're surrounded with styling that salutes motorcycle culture." Rugged and supple black aniline leather seating surfaces create a distinctive, inviting interior. The captain's chairs are unique, sporting a die-cast HARLEY-DAVIDSON Bar & Shield logo embedded in the leather. Elegant high-gloss Piano Black surfaces on the center stack and door panels are flanked by a Bar & Shield logo-patterned graphic treatment. The striking instrument panel – and the overall vehicle interior – features a stunning display of chrome, including unique chrome-ringed instruments, chrome handles, vent rings, floor shifter and door pulls. Adding to the overall custom feel of the interior is a serialized nickel plate showing the vehicle's production date and number.

A limited production model, each 2006 Ford Harley-Davidson™ F-150 includes a serialized nickel plate that highlights the truck's production date and number.

Pretty cheesey attempt IMHO. Interior not much different than my '04. Same powertrain. Wheels & tires, come on. Other than some badging & the price they will want for the "limited edition", I'll wait till they build another real H-D, like my '03.

The 40 hp doesn't make it a Harley truck. It's the attention to detail, performance & cosmetic, that separates it from a "King Ranch". If all it takes is putting some badging & stripes on a standard truck to please the masses, then they did a good job.

the 06's have attention to detail, performance and cosmetic. i guess you havent seen the pics yet and specs. it is a LOT more than some stripes and emblems on a standard f150

i dont even feel like educating the ignorant again, but what the heck.

interiors are equally as nice on the 06's as the 00-03's and 04-05's. in fact you could say its got a few extra perks like the sweet azz console shifter and harley logo hydrographics on all the trim pieces (like so many of us 00-03 guys get done in CF hydrographics...ford already has it done for the 06 HD's!)

exterior...both have nurfbars, both have chrome tips, both have special headlights (03 clear with amber strip, 06 blacked out monochrome), both have chromed thick bar grilles, both have painted bumpers and special front valances, both have 4" front fog lights, both have special harley f150 emblems, both have unique to the year pinstriping, 03 has 20's, 06 has 22's.

performance...03 has a 2 valve 5.4, 06 has a 3 valve 5.4, both have "harley tuned" exhaust, 03 has that supercharger, but 06 has an AWD option which is an all first for ford. and with the way gas prices are going, that improved fuel efficiency over the s/c, although its not the most fuel efficicent vehicle being a big truck, will be the ticket for a lot of people. thats one of the reasons in 00 i got a HD instead of a L.

add in all the other little upgrades ford has done from the 97-03 f150 body style into the 04-06 f150 body style, i'd say ford has done a pretty nice job on the 06 HD's. maybe we all here expect more, but then again hardly any of us drive stock harley truck and arent the biggest fans of how the stock 00-03 harley trucks ride, look, and perform, which is why we mod the heck out of them to fit what we like best. you cant expect them to roll out of ford like that.

06 HD owners will be the same way. there will be some people who just buy it, drive it, beat it, and sell it, and others that will buy it, join NHTOC, catch the mod bug, and go mod crazy on it and correct all those things that most of us dont like about the 06's.

just like most 00-03 owners here lower their trucks because yes, ours sit way too high stock as well, and upgrade the shcoks, because we've all got chitty stock shocks, and add a chip, filter, pulley, etc. since we all want more performance.

take the blinders off, think about it with an open mind a little bit, and try to see things from fords perspective. if they made a 2 toned HD f150 in the old 03 body style with a s/c engine for the next 10 years, it would get quite boring and old and make your truck nothing special among the masses, and ford would make no money.

by switching it up a bit every year, making these changes and alterations, they are keeping each year unique in its own way, and opening the harley truck market to a new buyer who the truck fits their personality better than the previous styles, and continuing to make money off hitting new markets for each generation style of harley truck

they may have their flaws in the new trucks, they've had flaws in all the year HD trucks. cant expect it to be perfect, and it leaves plenty of opportunity for individual owners to mod it to their specific tastes and make it unique to them.

dont intend this to be a flame at all, so dont get all defensive and take it the wrong way. just trying to open anothers eyes to realize its more than the whopping badges and stickers on a regular f150 that you stated it was

believe me, the day ford releases a HD truck and all it is is a set of emblems and pinstripe on a regular f150, i'll be one of the very first ones to post up about it and complain, but until then, ford seems to be doing a very good job.

and o yeah, the whole point of every vehicle ford puts out is to please the masses. it would make no sense for them to produce a vehicle that nobody wanted to buy

Why didn't they decide to make a four door? And why scrap the supercharger?

To create anticipation for when the decide to. They will introduce it slowly like they did with the first gen Harleys. When they do, people will be all over them again, if they make the right exterior changes.

people will be all over them with the extended cab and N/A. maybe the current 02/03 owners wont, but there's a ton of people out there who love the new body style ford trucks and would love a harley edition even more. and it is 4 door, its just extended cab. you could word that "why isnt it a 4 door" into "why doesnt it have a tiny bed" as well. just a different option to start out with. i can almost guarantee you you'll see a crew cab HD edition in 07 or 08. fords just hitting up the market in each step like the 1st gen HD trucks.

as for no s/c....its a different motor than before. 3V vs 2V. that would require different tuning, etc. and since there's no L anymore, the L isnt there to donate a detuned motor to the HD truck. with the way gas prices are going, they'll probably sell more of the 06's as N/A's than they would S/C's
