Thumbs up New Diablo Tuner/RWTD Info

DiabloSport Predator: New Lightning Revision Update!
This is all pending upon the new revision release. The revision will be released within a couple of days to 1 weeks time, although some minor changes could result in a slightly longer delay.

When it is released, you MUST follow the instructions listed on DiabloSport's website, which will explain fully how to update the Predator to the latest revision. http://www.diablosport.com/Downloads.php
Again, it is not yet released, so please do not call DiabloSport asking for any additional information. Please instead continue to check their website at the above link.

The speed limiter feature below I'm not quite sure on how it works just yet, as the Lightning does not have a limiter on it from the factory, so I will get more information about that shortly.

As for my customers, this revision update will NOT affect your custom tune, and you are still able to modify your custom tune using the end-user options of the Predator (even these new ones below). Also, those who are considering RWTD as their tuner, realize you get free custom tuning for your vehicle when you purchase a Predator from me, so the tune information below will be somewhat moot to you.

Did you know that DiabloSport builds all their products "in-house"? Go here to view a slide-show of the entire assembly process of the various DiabloSport products offered:

1999 to 2004 Lightning Truck Predator Overhaul

Using our years of experience with these awesome trucks and all Lightning enthusiast’s suggestions, we have recently created a new and improved Lightning Predator for your enjoyment. For those of you who already have a Lightning Predator, feel free to download the latest revision from our website for free.

We have added all new Custom Tune Parameters to allow tailoring of the tune to match the modifications made to your truck. These parameters allow you to optimize your tune for peak performance and also to suit your driving style. This is an excellent tool for custom dyno tuning and data logging.

We have tunes for 87, 91, 93 octane and configured them for different pulleys and boost levels. We took it even one step further and made tunes for the 1999 to 2000 trucks with the stock 80mm mass air meter, as well as the larger Lightning 90mm mass air meter upgrade (found on the 2001 and up Lightning trucks).

Here is a list of the custom parameters you can use to adjust all the tunes that come in the Predator.

    - Global Spark Adder -6 to +4 degrees in 1 degree increments
    - MAF Curve adjustment
    - 3000-6000 rpm Timing Table (+10/- 40%)
    - 1000-2500 rpm Timing Table (+10/- 40%)
    - Injector size adjustment
    - 1000-3000 rpm Fuel Table (+40% (rich)/-10% (lean))
    - 3000-6000 rpm Fuel Table (+40% (rich)/-10% (lean))
    - Idle (+/- 20%) (400-1200 rpm)
    - Rear O2 Sensors (Off-road Exh) ON/OFF
    - EGR ON/OFF
    - Speed Limiter re-set to 170 MPH
    - Rev Limiter, drive and neutral 6400rpm, max
    - Full Throttle Shift Points RPM
    - Part throttle Shift Pressure per gear
    - WOT Shift Pressure per gear
    - Global Line Pressure adder 0-50psi
    - Torque Modulation ON/OFF per gear
    - Re-Calibrate Speedometer for Gear and Tire Size Changes

Here is the list of New Tunes:

1999-2000 Lightnings (CUX1 and CUX2 boxcodes with factory Lightning 80mm or upgraded Lightning 90mm MAF only):

    - Non-pulley tune 87 octane: tune for 87 octane and stock pulley.
    - Pulley 87 octane: tune for 87 octane and pulley, max 13-14psi.
    - Non-pulley tune for 99-00 with 90mm MAF 87 octane: tune for 87 octane, calibrated for a Ford 90mm Lightning mass air meter.
    - Pulley tune for 99-00 with 90mm MAF 87 octane: tune for 87 octane, pulley (max 13-14psi), calibrated for a Ford 90mm Lightning mass air meter.

    - Non-pulley tune 91 octane: tune for 91 octane and stock pulley.
    - Pulley 91 octane: tune for 91 octane and pulley, max 13-14psi.
    - Non-pulley tune for 99-00 with 90mm MAF 91 octane: tune for 91 octane, calibrated for a Ford 90mm Lightning mass air meter.
    - Pulley tune for 99-00 with 90mm MAF 91 octane: tune for 93 octane, pulley (max 13-14psi), calibrated for a Ford 90mm Lightning mass air meter.

    - Non-pulley tune 93 octane: tune for 93 octane and stock pulley.
    - Pulley 93 octane: tune for 93 octane and pulley, max 13-14psi.
    - Non-pulley tune for 99-00 with 90mm MAF 93 octane : tune for 93 octane, calibrated for a Ford 90mm Lightning mass air meter.
    - Pulley tune for 99-00 with 90mm MAF 93 octane: tune for 93 octane, pulley (max 13-14psi), calibrated for a Ford 90mm Lightning mass air meter.

    - Factory hp tune: Factory tune, use this to modify adjustable parameters. Use with Factory recommended octane.
    - Factory hp tune for 99-00 with 90mm MAF: Factory tune calibrated for a Ford 90mm Lightning mass air meter. Use this to modify adjustable parameters. Use with Factory recommended octane.

    2001-2004 Lightnings (CXN1, ABU2, NLP2, and URB1 boxcodes with factory Lightning 90mm MAF only):

    - Non-pulley tune 87 octane: tune for 87 octane and stock pulley.
    - Pulley 87 octane: tune for 87 octane and pulley, max 13-14psi.

    - Non-pulley tune 91 octane: tune for 91 octane and stock pulley.
    - Pulley 91 octane: tune for 91 octane and pulley, max 13-14psi.

    - Non-pulley tune 93 octane: tune for 93 octane and stock pulley.
    - Pulley 93 octane: tune for 93 octane and pulley, max 13-14psi.

    - Factory hp tune: Factory tune, use this to modify adjustable parameters. Use with Factory recommended octane.

FYI, it does not appear that this revision will allow the Predator to hold multiple custom tunes. However, a new Predator for us CMR (ChipMaster Revolution) dealers only, called "Freedom", will allow such (up to 5). There is going to be 1 to 2 total Ford part #'s, which will allow us CMR dealers to not have to stock all the various regular Predator part #'s. This "Freedom" Predator is also the tool that will be used with the end-user CMR when it becomes available through us CMR dealers at a future date. It's dealer configurable, meaning we can customize the end-user options and PID/*** diagnostics list to our likings and/or customer's wants/wishes. Here is a spyshot of it:

Everyone, if you would be so kind, please do not ask questions other than what the subject is referring to in this thread (the Predator revision update), as I do not want to seem as if I'm rude or ignoring you when I don't answer. The reason I may not answer is because we're steadily trying to finish my new dyno tuning and performance shop we're moving into, which is suppose to open on Monday, May 2nd (may be a day or few later, uhhhg!), plus this is not the area to contact me for support. I have been pretty much down for business the last 3 to 4 weeks because of this, and I'm doing my best to get this finished and opened so I can get back to all my customers in a timely manner. I truly appreciate your understand and patience.

    I hope this helps!

    Kind Regards...

I've been waiting for that release since I got the stupid Predator... it's been one of those "in two weeks" side jokes.
I'm not holding my breath over the update.
At the same time, I'm glad there's the potential for new life for my old mod.

Sounds good to me, I guess this will give me a reason to go buy that tuner to PC plug now

I wonder if they'll ever add A/Fs to the data logging

So I went and updated my Predator the other day. Now I got questions.

WHat are the published HP/Tq Gains for the following tunes?

    - Non-pulley tune 87 octane: tune for 87 octane and stock pulley.
    - Pulley 87 octane: tune for 87 octane and pulley, max 13-14psi.

    - Non-pulley tune 91 octane: tune for 91 octane and stock pulley.
    - Pulley 91 octane: tune for 91 octane and pulley, max 13-14psi.

    - Non-pulley tune 93 octane: tune for 93 octane and stock pulley.
    - Pulley 93 octane: tune for 93 octane and pulley, max 13-14psi.

Now I am also looking for answers to SHould I or SHould I not adjust the following and if so what to set at?

Speed Limiter re-set to 170 MPH
    - Rev Limiter, drive and neutral 6400rpm, max
    Full Throttle Shift Points RPM
    Torque Modulation ON/OFF per gear

Overall a some literature explaining what all the following does, Pros, cons of messing with it would be nice.

List of parameters that can be customized:

    - Global Spark Adder -6 to +4 degrees in 1 degree increments
    - MAF Curve adjustment
    - 3000-6000 rpm Timing Table (+10/- 40%)
    - 1000-2500 rpm Timing Table (+10/- 40%)
    - Injector size adjustment
    - 1000-3000 rpm Fuel Table (+40% (rich)/-10% (lean))
    - 3000-6000 rpm Fuel Table (+40% (rich)/-10% (lean))
    - Idle (+/- 20%) (400-1200 rpm)
    - Rear O2 Sensors (Off-road Exh) ON/OFF
    - EGR ON/OFF
    - Speed Limiter re-set to 170 MPH
    - Rev Limiter, drive and neutral 6400rpm, max
    - Full Throttle Shift Points RPM
    - Part throttle Shift Pressure per gear
    - WOT Shift Pressure per gear
    - Global Line Pressure adder 0-50psi
    - Torque Modulation ON/OFF per gear
    - Re-Calibrate Speedometer for Gear and Tire Size Changes

Seeing as how the instruction manual that comes with the predator does not really talk about any of this and there is no new literature released on the update yet.
