    Laugh Reservations made

My Aunt that will be in Vegas with me hooked us up at the Monte Carlo for the weekend. A fair trade: I paid for her round trip flight and she is hooking us up with the reservation through a friend. See ya there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not sure what everyone has planned for that weekend, but I suggest we could get together for lunch or dinner at Dona Maria's Tamale Shop.

I've been there a couple times, food is really good and it's inexpensive.

    Here's the address:
    910 Las Vegas Blvd S
Las Vegas, NV 89101-6823 View Map
    (702) 382-6538

It's located 1/2 way from the strip and downtown.

Here's an article from the local papers reviewing the place.

This place is supposed to be really good too. My wife and I planned on going to this place after some recommendations, only to find out it had burned down a couple months before we got there. It has since been rebuilt.

We should start coming up with some ideas as to what to do once we're out there.

Track? Shops? Whatever. I'm down for meeting up with you guys anywhere.

Anyone up for a little poker tournament? We can have one of the poker rooms open a table strictly for us and we name the stakes.

    Well I live here...so I can help a bit

...Formally, the LV Motor Speedway drag strip has events all weekend...so we out of luck on that. HOWEVER, I am working with the Marketing department to see if we can get a tour, drive on one of the tracks, or ?? I have no idea what is possible or what the costs may be...so let's see what they tell me

...if you didn't know, the Carroll Shelby facility is here. He has tours and you can see every model Shelby he ever built...even the little Dodge Chargers from the 80s. It's a neat place. I'll check on times on that

...as for meeting places...there are tons. Are we meeting to show off the trucks, or just to meet? From the sound of it, not a lot of us are bringing trucks...so that's why I ask

    re: Shelby

If we can get there at 10:30 Friday, we can tour the entire facility where he is making the new series of Shelby cars. I've seen it and it's amazing. Try to picture several shelves of big blocks...and 1/2 done cars being rolled from the suspensionn area to the interior area...just cool to watch them get built

Anyway, if we get there later than 10:30, you can view the cars (like in the above pics), but not the shop.

They are closed Sat and Sunday (unless there are special events, which there are none that weekend)

The 10:30 tour sounds like a blast but there's little chance I'll get there in time.

The regular tour is good too.

    Laugh RE: Shelby tour

Count me in!! Sounds like the 10:30 tour might be difficult to make, so we should hit a different tour. Will be in Vegas around 12 - 1. Picking up my aunt and taking her to my uncles place. After that........................ I'm open for sugs.

I was planning on leaving here between 8 and 9. Figure I hit a little morning traffic off the 91/15 area and then it's all cruising from there. I should be in Vegas by 1 or 2 at the latest.
