that little plastic cap thing you were talking about getting in your way....two 8 mm nuts and it pops off the studs and you can pull it out of your way. makes it a LOT easier to work in there

i got mine set from 1.28 down to 1.16 after i pulled the TPS off and drilled out the holes wider so it could rotate more. but i had to drill quite a bit to just get it to move .1 volts..didnt see me getting almost .2 more volts out of it so i put it on and siad forget it. havent driven it since the J-LO-HO meet last month though, so i'll see tomorrow when i go to Pitman Auto Show how it feels

    Thumbs up

Hey Stew....thanks a bunch for the tip with the Predator.

I just did mine with it and it was so easy...5 mins. I was at .93 and I've got it to .98 without taking it off and drilling the holes for more adjustment.

Not sure if the new firmware update on the Predator makes a difference or not but here's a little step by step how-to on what mine displayed all the way through.

    1. Plug in the Predator.
    2. Select Diagnostics.
    3. Turn ignition on, but don't start engine.
    4. Select Real Time Data.
    5. Scroll down to trans.
    6. Select from list.
    7. Select fast rate.
    8. Scroll down to TP V, selecting it puts a * to the left of it.
    9. Press ESC
    10. Press ESC
    11. At Select Log Data, replay later using playback, select Yes.

This will send it into immediate Playback mode and you should
    now see your TPS reading.

If it is not at .98 or .99 then open hood and put Predator out the window and place it by the hood hinge where you can see it. Now loosen bolts holding the TPS on and turn clockwise to raise the number or anti-clockwise to lower it while watching the Predator display. When you get your numbers right then tighten it back down making sure you don't wiggle it too much causing it to change the settings.

You can unplug the Predator or do ESC ESC all the way back out unplug it and then turn off the key.

Thanks to whomever did this too, it has great pictures.

My TPS was reading .80! just adjusting it clockwise, I got it to .88. then marioec and I proceeded to drill the bejeezus out of the tps and the metal sleeve had to go. bye bye. well, now it reads .99.
streets were all wet, so we test drove his truck and mine. didn't take it on turnpike or interstate, but that's prolly where we might feel the diff. can't say I felt much of a diff. on take off or rounding the corners. our tires were breaking loose any time we tapped the go pedal with some authority. we shall see. my .02

Mine was set at 1.3/1.4 and I got it adjusted down to .99.

Not sure if there was a big difference or not.

What does P/T on the TP mode mean (right below TP V)? When you are not touching the gas with the truck off it reads ? . When you start pusing the throttle pedal down it says WOT and when you mash it to the floor it reads P/T. Does anyone elses do this??

With it to the floor it shows 4.55 for the TP V and TP mode says P/T.

    Thanks

I don't think that you can use a SCT handheld to read TPS. It does have diagnostics but it just automatically searches for thrown codes.

Finally got off my but & adjusted mine today.

    Was 1.041
    Now 0.984

Hey Etch - you posted this:

    ".986 before
    .999 after

That bottom screw is a BIOTCH on the 01."

Why did you change yours? As far as I can tell it was spot on before you adjusted it. From reading here it should be between 0.980 & 0.990. You just adjusted your to 0.999. Why? Just for your info Bro..............

Here it is after adjustment. Screws were a bit tight to get loosened. Placed screw driver in screw head & tapped the driver handle lightly with a hammer a 1/2 dozen times. Then it unscrewed without a trouble. Very touchy to adjust but you can get it there OK. Didn't have to drill out the holes at all which I was thankful of.

Well I was already there and didn't realize what a pain it was until I already started. Figured I'd just go ahead and do it to see how close I could get. But yeah, it didn't really need any adjustment.

Trust me when I say that if you are 1.04 or greater or .95 and lower then you will notice the difference when you get it to .99. Don't be expecting the tires to come flying off the truck but you will notice a difference.
