You can get other brands that will hit as hard(or harder) and not have to spend so much on each part, $600 for a sub and $800 for an amp? I got all 4-12's, and 2-1200.1 amps for $1500, but, if JL is what you have to have, go for it.
Not down-talking JL or anything, but $1400 for 1-sub and 1-amp(JL) vs. $1500 for 4-subs and 2-amps(Kicker) is a big difference in my book.
Just my .02 since I know you are a young graduating lad.
ps. L7's would look better in that box that's in the BOSS 5.4 in my oppinion, but that's me.

I agree with Brian to a point... I love & appreciate JL but it is pricey, & you do get what you pay for. There are lots of awesome brands out there.... Kicker, Alpine, Autotek, Alphasonik, Memphis, I can go on for a long time... its all about the combination & the install.
I've said it a 1000 times, installer is everything, a good one can make Kraco/Jensen sound da*n good & a hack can make the $15,000 Focal Utopia Be system sound like Spark-o-matic.
if this were 2-3 years ago I would agree MTX would be a good choice... they have "commercialized" their product (like they always do every 7-10 years) to meet the needs of the nib box stores. MTX is about due for a return to its roots & making product for the hardcore, true enthusiast (maybe 2006??). Right now its just average product with a few glimmering stars that are pretty pricey.

Ok.... here i go... to try and explain what i heard tonight.
Extended Cab Chevy.... TWO 10" W3s and a 600? watt amp pushing both of them... i think.
WOW! That system was bad ***! Also had infinity door speakers.
I was really impressed by the W3s! If two W3s hit like that, i cant wait to see what two W6s will do!
