If you lower the rear of your truck you should get the shock extenders to keep the shock travel where it is supposed to be.

Would you say buy these for a 1/3? Cuz if so, damnit! That might be changing to much and parents will say no!

Your parents will really be pissed if you have to get new shocks because you failed to get extenders.

well...maybe you need to see if you are allowed to even do a 1/3 drop, especially at those prices for the GF kit, before you get any shock extenders ;t lol

O.K. So i'm alittle confused now.

When do you need shock extenders?

    1. With any type of drop?
    2. When the shocks you get are not the right length for the drop you have or they dont make the shock for the drop you have.

It sounds like #2 unless that you go so low the shocks you get will not be enough travel so you get the extenders so you get the right travel but if you are low like a 4, 6, drop the extenders may be hitting the ground before anything else does like your 4x4 trans pan.

    HD, #2 is most correct.

Think of it like this: Any kit that does not include shocks is going to be a problem.

GF & Bell Tech sell their kits w/ & w/o shocks... if you are buying these 2 companies get WITh shocks....

Steeda & Rousch all offer them w/shocks pretty much only way to buy them. Rousch uses special revalved & length Bilstiens. Steeda Uses Doetsch (I think).

So-Cal Speed Shop includes shocks & extenders.

Hotchkiss does NOT include shocks. QA-1's are the choice here. Extenders are not used anymore with this since Ayrton found there is another QA-1 that is shorter than what we were using.

Lastly, Ayrton's comment on drop the truck, measure & call is perfect advise. Hard I know to drop the truck 7 then wait for shocks, but it gets you the right shock length.

Thanks 2002GreyHD150 for the great info! I am going to go with the Western Chasis 4, 6 drop like dubless did. I'm trying to find a way to get alittle performance out of it but because its so low you cant do to much. So little things like shocks, maybe different coils will help out alittle.

The western chassis install in the last SPort Truck (I think it was that mag) used Doetsch shocks... very good shock for the $$.

HDsc... you should be fine... as long as they use the Doetsch shocks & not some other crap... I have witnessed lots of shops swap to the C-R-A-P Bell-tech shocks time-&-time again...

Be sure you are happy with the ride.. if not... take it back!

Josh the extenders are not listed as available seperately.

Call & talk to billy. If you look at the picture of the F150 lowering kit, they are pictured there.
