While I had the motor out, I decided to clean all the nasty coating off the frame rails --- this stuff is REALLY NASTY----I hated working around the motor with this stuff, its like tar and gets on everything.

Now its gone......well at least its gone all the way to almost the trans crossmember.

Maybe one of these days I will clean from the trans crossmember to the rear bumper, but no time soon....I hate the mess this crap makes.

I used Simple Green, putty knife, wire brushes, and Scotchbrite pads.

First pic is the “before” pic

Second pic is after I cleaned off the coating, it left the frame a silver color.

And the last pics are after I painted the frame with a satin black paint

haha, maybe i'd let you in on the little secret too Ron, but tek has been to a bunch of meets and shows around here, and i STILL havent had the pleasure to drool over your pimpin 03 HD yet! and NO excuses on distance if you're only 10 mins. from tek...if he can make it, you can make it! LoL!

KBZilla, what kind of paint did you use? looks great as always!
did you take off the upper A-arms to clean in there and paint? i'll probably end up doing around that part next time i lower the truck a bit more, want another 1/2" up front still

    anyways...
little more progress tonight couple pics for ya's

the ford service CD is a God send!!!!!! i forget who it was that burned me a copy, but THANK YOU SOOOOO MUCH!!!!!

keep the laptop right on the table with the service CD up, keeps things movin nice and easy for the modding

ooh its lookin empty inside there!

bye bye throttle body, plenum, & intake manifold, & coil packs. almost got the fuel lines off, but stupid me forgot to bring my fuel line disconnects up to the shop will get that out of the way tomorrow. and then maybe start tackling the rat's nest that is the wiring shoved to the left and right of the motor haha

latest removed junk.....bigazz plastic intake on the 2nd shelf next to the intake & alternator, top shelf manifolds, thrtottle body, egr tube, plenum, egr vavle, misc. hoses, pcv's, coil packs

and last pic, yeah basically looks the same as the ones from the other day, but just thought the truck looked funny from this angle...front end looks like a frog or somethin

and let the guessing game continue!!!

    AK Winters

We can put studs on beginning 15 Sept and must remove them
by 15 May to give you an idea. We have had snow in May before
but these last few years (maybe its global warming) the winters here have gotten milder believe it or not. However it is presently about 5 degrees outside and the sun went down at 4:30 pm
today. Sunrise is usually around 10:30 am this time of year.
