    fepony, if I'm not mistaken your wife's salary should qualify for the Foreign Earned Income Exclusion IRS ruling for American citizens working for foreign companies overseas. This currently is 80K. So she would only be liable for taxes on about 30K if my math is correct. Also she SHOULD get a housing allowance on top of her salary. This is the industry standard for most companies who hire people for overseas positions. I lived in Germany for 17 years and my wife received this from her employer. I was in the USAF all that time myself.

    Thanks for the info you sent Adam. Thanks for ALL the info posted guys. She is still trying to decide if she wants to work abroad. We would both love a short term consultation job for her but the one she looked at wanted a 2 year commitment and she/we aren't sure we want to be gone that long.
