hmmm. i don't know for sure if this will work for those who live outside the U.S. You may want to visit www.powerball.com and look into the rules. I will try to do so also and see if I find anything on that. Personally, I don't have an issue with it, but I wouldn't want you to put your money in and not be able to collect your share if we won anything.

Uh oh! I was reading the FAQs and it wasn't good.

Any Internet lottery site that purports to sell Powerball tickets, or “shares” of Powerball tickets to purchasers or to run a “service” for you, are operating illegally. They are not authorized by the Multi-State Lottery Association or by any U.S. lottery. There are legal Internet sales of lottery tickets in some states or countries, but only within the borders of that state/country or by agreement between nations. The United States has no agreements with any other nation to allow lottery tickets sales across the national border.

The laws of your state prohibit the purchase of another state’s lottery ticket across state lines. Federal laws also make out-of-state lottery plays across a state line illegal. But note that you can legally travel to another state, buy a ticket, and bring it back to your home state. Most countries prohibit the purchase of lottery tickets across their border.
I will have to get clarification on the above rules before I accept any payments for tickets. Blair, it doesn't look like it is legal across borders.

Well, I sent an email to the Hoosier Lottery about this on Sunday, but still have not received a reply. I will keep you updated if they ever send a reply.

I got a response today. Looks like this is fine from their perspective. If anyone is in, let me know.

From what you describe in your first point, there is nothing wrong with a group of people pooling their money and playing together. That does not matter where you live. If you were to win, we routinely process winning claims from groups of people and would do so for your group as well. Each person in the group would have to fill out a claim.

As far as your website, I would refrain from commenting given the fact we have not seen your site, but given the information you provided, I am not sure what information from the Powerball website would cause you concern with your discussion group.

No one hit last night. PB is currently at 50 mil, 23.9 mil cash value. Hopefully by next Sat., the cash value is about 30 mil. If we can get at least 4-6 people, that would be excellent.
