Waxing...how often?

Just wondering how often you guys wax your truck? I've never had a car that required as much care as a black truck...i wash twice a week and dust daily, but just wondering how often i should wax it...

There are a lot of things to think about, harsh climate, sea air ect.
car washing, a harsh commercial soap or a mild hand wash soap.
and the type of wax you use. I wash mine once a week dusting in between, wax it every 3rd time.
I use Mothers products for the most part, I had a 94 Indigo blue GMC before my HD, when I sold it the original paint still looked new and the 6 year old Centerline hadnt dulled a bit.

most people do it like once every 3-6months but i do mine at least once every 2 weeks or jsut when im board

I do it as often as i can. I do 3 coats a day when i have the time, and only use zaino stuff. I did 9 coats in about 3 months last fall, haven't done any in about 6 months because the HORRIBLE winter we had with all the snow, and now this HORRIBLE spring with rain every friggin day ;c You can tell there's still a little bit of those 9 coats left on the truck, i'm suprsied how durable its been for being outside 24/7. I want to get 3 or 6 coats on before i leave in july, then i'll be set until i get back in august, and i'll do 3 more coats then, and 3 more coats at the end of august, then its time to reorder ;t

I think that if your using good wax, three coats in a day is a bit excessive. After a few good coats its an exercise in futility.
