    Question guys

I have a 2002 black HD and the only mod on the truck is a 12 in filter. My question to you guys is I also have a Johnny Lightning ram air. Has anyone done this mod and if so could you tell a big difference from the filter to the kit?

I recommend reading this entire site, but here is a page relevant to your question.

Anyone have pics of where you mount the scoop to? I have the C&L mass air meter with the conical filter, but I understand how I would be sucking in hot air without making some changes.

    Thanks!

Palumbon, quite a few guy's have installed a screen over the scoop to prevent large objects from going into the scoop. A quick trip to home depot will solve that problem. Another item I would consider a must have, is an Outerwear Filter that covers the main filter. I know that Johnny Lightning sells these, but I would check with Mark at Lightning Force Performance in the vendors section of this site. LFP is a supporting vendor....

I thought the same thing, but Sal’s products are well thought out, so if water was a problem, then I think Sal would have moved it.

I would be more worried about scraping it on a curb.

I need to put a screen on mine. I get all sorts of leaves and crap in the box. I am in a new neighborhood and the road debris is everywhere...

I bought an outerwear cover so I don't worry about it much.

It scrapes curbs a little, but it has a flange on the front that could be cut off and net at least another 1" of clearance. If I had a rotozip, I probably would have already done it...
