I will take that bet. MSRP is not set from Ford yet. Coupe about $44,000 Conv about $48,000.Originally Posted by SCBQQSTN

just my .02
Not if they build 10,000 a year.

With that logic, you are saying that a 2003 HD with low mileage is worth somewhere in the ballpark of $22,000? How is it you can see such a depreciation out of that car and don't see the same rate for the HT's?Originally Posted by SCBQQSTN

I've seen ford news conferencesandthey have stated they want to produce as much as they could sell. Hoping for 10,000 a year. This car will very expensive 15-20 years from now not in 2 years.
I wouldn't mind having a GT500............... if ya want to play- ya gotta pay. Well, that lets me out.
I am really thinking hard about picking up the one from here. If it is the black and grey one, it is mine.

very true but have you looked on ebay? 03 HD are going for that priceOriginally Posted by jotay21
The only '03s I have seen going that cheap are the ones with 70k+ miles on the odometer or salvage titles. Most '03s in good shape and reasonable miles are going 25-30k with a very rare instance where one gets over 30k.Originally Posted by SCBQQSTN
I don't think a GT500 will be in the 20s for several years. Even if they do ramp up production, I doubt the value will plummet more than 5k under msrp for a used one. This is Ford's ONLY high performance vehicle at the moment. All the hype about a new truck being added to the line-up is just that until they really start scheduling production. I think it will take at least 6 months to find one at MSRP and I doubt the sweet deals some got on Harley trucks near A-plan will ever be seen on the GT500. Therefore, I expect that the value will at minimum remain in the mid-high 30s for a used one.
ALL cars depreciate horribly, some not as bad as others but i expect the same to happen to the shelby in the next couple of years. they will go up in the long run but for now they will drop...maybe the high markup is an excuse to get a cobra instead
