Congrats to Tazz and his SWEET 2003 HD F-150 on June, 2006 TOTM!!!
Slight delay in getting TOTM up due to laptop issues and having to reformat, but without further delay, I hope everybody enjoys the article for June TOTM!
Question # 1: What sparked your interests in the Harley trucks?
Specifically your Black 2003?
I had previously owned a 2001 HD that I enjoyed quite a bit but I wanted a little more power. So I waited till the 2003 HD came out so I could have the best of both worlds looks with the power I was needing.
Question # 2: Any interesting stories behind the history of vehicles
you've owned leading up to the HD truck or how you got it?
Since 97 I have owned a Ford F-150 followed by a 99 F-150 truck and really loved the versatility that they offered in both looks, performance and ability to handle my hauling needs at the time. So 2001 I traded my 99 F-150 in for the 2001HD mainly because I liked the looks of the truck since it was something very different from the trucks that were in my town. In the 2yrs that I owned the 01 HD I always made heads turn very place I went whether I was just cruesing the town or taking the Girlfriend out for the night. She would always and still does just kinda shake her head because of all the people that just stare and **** there heads as they drive past the truck or give a big thumbs up and say nice truck.
Question # 3: Give me a rough list of the mods that have been done to your truck. I know you've got a lot done, so you can just list for favorites if you'd like!
The custom Brazilian wood floor for the bed of the truck that I bought from Tattoostuff is probably my most favorite mod of all. Then follows my interior pained pieces that I bought from FnRage, FTVB, Recalibrated BOP pcm, Rem ported blower with SFPH nonslip 2.60" upper blower pulley, L&S oil separator, JLP ram air intake with custom painted Thunder pipe, ARE tonnue cover with custom pained HD logo on cover, Bed Rug, JL Audio Stealth box for rear console, PPI 5 channel amp and 5X7 door speakers, LM-1 wb a/f meter and gauge and the Fire & Ice rear LED bar.
Question # 4: Tell us a little about yourself. Your other hobbies *cough*HD-Diecast-Collection*cough*, your job, your favorite past time, whatever!
Most of you probably know that I have a huge collection of 1/18 scale diecast models and R/C trucks. To my knowledge I have every year of diecast models made from 2000-2004 from the already assembled Ertl models, the Limited Harley Davidson shop models with bike in bed to the Body shop models from Ertl that you assemble and some variations on the 2000 HD that were not production vehicles. My most favorite is my rare 2002Black Lobo version diecast model followed by the Gates & Napa promotional Black 2002HD that I have 2 sets which Oh My Hog found me another new complete set. In addition to all the diecast models I have all the R/C models that I know of made by Nikko and EzTec.
I’m 36yrs young and a retail Asst Mgr for a large Food store chain and love the outdoors camping and have a bit of a wild side for Sky Diving which gives you a wild rush. I also enjoy spending time with my Girlfriend Kelli and of course keeping the truck looking good so she can just shake here head when something else arrives at the front door.
Question # 5: You've been a member on the site for quite a while now, what is one of the best things you like about the site that keeps you around?
I would say it's mostly the quality of people we have on this site vs. on other sites. Most the people here are very helpful and will go out of there way to help a member out. In addition we also have people here that give you an honest answer to your questions and not just give you someone else’s opinion whether it be good or bad. Probably the one thing that has kept me here is the friendship bonds that have developed over the years with a few of the members and knowing I can ask any question I'd like and get a honest answer.
Question # 6: What is one suggestion to help make the site a better place?
Just have the members keep on doing what they have been doing and be as helpful as each of us can. I can say that this site is the friendliest site by far without allot of crap going on in the background. How many of you know a site that would openly embrace and have fun with a member that has switched from a Ford truck to a Dodge truck and not just banish him from the site. While there may be a few that may not like or agree with there choice most here act in a professional manner toward that person and that rates high in my book.
Question # 7:
This is where I normally ask about where you decided on your screen name at, and when I think of Tazz, I think Tasmanian devil, exactly how did you come up with you screen name and what’s the meaning behind it?
Well... it really describes the way I am. Kinda on the tense side always doing something kinda crazy and wild but I'm able to keep it under wraps most of the time. I had it as a Personalized tag on my vehicle at one time and just kept it as my SN for the sites I'm on.
Question # 8: Almost at the end, what is in the future for your truck? With modding from the get-go, I know you’ve got to have something up your sleeve for the HD in the future!
Mostly just interior customization. I’m not planning on getting rid of the truck since I’ve really spent more than I like to admit and it really wouldn't make any sense too unless I really had no choice. Also I like the attention and looks I get where ever I go and the peoples reaction to what I’ve done to the truck and the great comments I get.
Question 9: Last and final question, just an open end question for if you had anything else you wanted to mention that I didn’t have a question for...here's the place to go at it! Your website link, a plug for something, etc. etc. whatever you want to throw in!
I would like to say that the 3yrs I’ve been on this site it's been great and I hope I’ve played a role in making this site the best site dedicated to the Ford Harley Davidson Truck possible
And with that, I would like to say on behalf of the entire community at NHTOC, thanks for being a supporting member for all these years, and for always being there to help everybody out!! Congrats on TOTM June, 2006!
