When buying a used sct are there anything that i should be aware of, like with the predator and making sure it is unlocked. appreciate any help.

Same thing applies only worse if I'm not mistaken. When buying an Xcal used, the original tune must be put on the previous vehicle, then the xcal must be unlocked from that vehicle by a SCT dealer. Do some searching on the sct website to be sure.

Finally, the XCAL can only be vinlocked to 6 vehicles before it becomes a doorstop. This I know for sure.
