A shop that does midpipes?
I've asked around several "performance" shops here in Fredericksburg and have heard enough of the lecture about dumping two catalytic converters in favor of a midpipe setup with two magnaflow high-flow cats.
First, has anyone gotten rid of the stock 4-cat setup, and if so, how's the sound? Any performance gains to be had? I definately don't want any drone in the cab. My Magnaflow catback sounds good enough, but I figure I can open it up a little bit (when I bury my foot) by going this route.
Along those same lines, does anyone know where I can buy midpipes? It appears no one in the Fredericksburg area wants to do it.
Or, am I just loony for wanting to go this route?
thanks all!

I'm having the same kinda problem right now. I'm just trying to figure out what I want to do. That Magnaflow does have a nice purr to it doesn't it.

Going from 4 to 2 cats makes it loud, going to no cats makes it unbearable.

Around When I Can...

I just recently went to two hi-flow cats but also added long tubes in the process. It got loud! I'm running Dynomax mufflers right now but soon i'm thinking of trying out the Magnaflow.
